I don't know if I could cut up any fj40. I do see quite a few on the trails, maybe I can find one that has already been cut one day, that will make it easier.

Try and find one like the guys at FabRats did that's pretty beat and wouldn't be worth restoration. His is pretty dang sweet.

He did a fj45 they are even harder to find.
Tried to buy the one Bobby at CVT tents had in the Chattanooga store. He was asking $18000 for it three years ago, it was in pretty good shape.

Finally bought a decent camera cannon T7. These are some test pics I took today. Lighting was trash that being said they aren't that bad at all. Came with long zoom lens battery SD card case and tripod! Can’t wait to start taking photos on trips!

    Good morning folks

    From AlabamaWX

BEAUTIFUL WEEK AHEAD: Today is the last day of meteorological winter, and we end the season with a sunny day across Alabama. Temperatures are in the 30s over the northern third of the state early this morning… but we warm to near 60 degrees this afternoon with sunshine in full supply.

The weather stays dry for the rest of the week with sunny days and a warming trend. The high tomorrow will be in the mid 60s, the we will be close to 70 degrees Wednesday. Then, we rise into the mid 70s Thursday and Friday.

THE ALABAMA WEEKEND: While moisture/humidity levels will rise over the weekend, most of the state will stay dry. Any showers should be confined to the northwest corner of the state… otherwise expect partly sunny, warm days and fair nights. The high both days will be close to 80 degrees; it will be the warmest weekend so far this year.

NEXT WEEK: Showers and storms will return to the state early next week; the air will be unstable, and we could very well have a risk of strong to severe thunderstorms Monday, but it is too early to know the specifics. We will likely have several days next week with some risk of rain and storms as an active pattern returns… See the Weather Xtreme video for maps, graphics, and more details.

FEBRUARY RAIN: For most of Alabama, February was a wet month. The exception was the far southern part of the state, where rain was well below average. Here are some rain totals from February 1 through today…

    Huntsville 8.51″
    Muscle Shoals 7.59″
    Birmingham 6.79″
    Tuscaloosa 6.57″
    Montgomery 5.65″
    Anniston 5.46″
    Mobile 2.62″
    Dothan 1.62″

ON THIS DATE IN 1962: Wilmington, North Carolina, reached a high temperature of 85 degrees. This is the warmest temperature on record during February.

ON THIS DATE IN 2007: A severe storm blows into France, Portugal, and Spain, smashing sea walls, destroying homes, polluting farmland with saltwater, and devastating the Atlantic coast’s oyster farms. Winds reach about 125 mph on the summits of the Pyrenees and up to nearly 100 mph along the Atlantic Coast. Wind speeds of 106 mph are measured atop the Eiffel Tower in Paris.

The first picture (My Granddaughter) has a lot of background blur and the second is about mid blur, it makes the subject jump out.

    1 blur.jpg

    2 blur.jpg

The next one is just wide angle

    wide.jpg

This one is a little zoom

    wide2.jpg

The next one is just catching your light just right, makes a big difference.

    light.jpg

The next one is good light and zoom lens

    zoom.jpg
I set down with my book and lens and took a picture and noted what each setting does to the picture. I did it one picture at a time, if I took a lot of pictures with different settings I couldn't remember anything. It is really over whelming in the beginning but like anything else once you learn the little things it gets easier.

Im just excited to start learning how to really use camera. Just after tinkering with it for a little bit yesterday i got the basics down. Theres and auto mode with basically you shoot and photo takes but its flash happy and i don't like it haha.

Auto is good for quick pictures but once you learn your settings and take pictures with the settings you like you will start to see how the little adjustments really make the pictures stand out, its a lot of fun. This picture has some blur and a little out of focus, it makes it look strange but I like it, makes it look a little cartoonish. You can turn that flash off when in auto.

I agree, its just going to take trial and error on how i like photos and how to adjust the ISO for different light types. Yesterday it was so overcast and rainy it was hard to get good shots. I cant wait to see what this camera can do in sunny light.

Sunny day makes it easier but once you learn your camera you can get good shots in low light too.

These are on a cloudy rainy day.

Took some more test photos on lunch! Pretty happy with these. The 2 on my deck are cross lighting and the front me out front of bush is direct! All unedited

Thanks for the tag. I'm in Australia right now and completely brainwashed by all the Hilux's and 78/79 Series Land Cruisers around here. Pretty much everyone has a fully built offroad machine!! haha

I’m pretty sure you should be able to fit a 79 series in your carry on with no problem.
