Pretty sure they were overinflated because they were the dealership's go-to shop and they could charge whatever they wanted.

Dealer had the balls to put a mark-up on top of that figure for the 4R. (It was 18 over sticker. 18k for a wrap, wheels, and ladder rack. I'm sure they got it too.)

After thinkin' about it I was wondering what made the difference in what and who you chose? You didn't go with the 1K or the 5K, so was there something that made you go with that particular outfit to do the job?

Well I'd never pay 5k to wrap a Tacoma ... the 2.5k place had a good reputation and for that price they removed exterior pieces like door handles, window trim, etc to actually get the wrap under all of those areas ... versus the 1k place that took the wrap right up against a barrier then just cut it.

Nope. I’m talking emptying the engine bay of all components removing the entire interior etc. Literally taking the vehicle back down to the frame and body so if you pull any part off the truck anywhere their is zero sign of the original color. That’s why a said a true full color change.

Okay... That might be true then. Who in their right mind would pay for or expect that kind of detail? Not me...

Just get it bed lined. They have a full list of colors and prep, I believe, is way less than a full blown paint job. Hold up better than a wrap and paint as well

Not something I would do. I've never been a fan of bedliner. It chips and underneath it's rusty. I saw a truck running down the hiway a few years ago with bedliner equipment in the back and a sign on the side saying it was a company that applied it... and I noticed that the truck had a plastic insert in the bed.
    It looks like crap too.

I worked at a collision shop years ago and helped my boss with a build. He got a great price on a 97 cobra that had been rolled over. We cut it in half through the a pillar and down across the floor pan then welded the back half and roof from another car back on. Price for the full paint job was 3k but we had the car completely gutted when it was taken in and it went back to the factory metallic pacific green so the engine bay didn’t need to be painted. Personally I wouldn’t mind at all though if mine was black. It would look cool with almost any color. That was years ago. For a quality job now you would probably be in the 5k to 7500 area I would think.

If you say so. I’d do it in a heartbeat. Just don’t use it to cover rust.

Some people like that but I would think it would make the truck damn hard to sell. Not a big group for sure.

Maybe true but mine personally only has mileage on its side and I don’t plan to sell. It’s a 2014 with 47k miles and the only thing I absolutely hate about it is the kazoo from the passenger door

It only has mileage on its side? And you don’t like your kazoo door?

Mine is in in great shape but salvage title due to driving through flood water. I’m the one that drove through it and nothing has went wrong in the 3 years since but it was totaled and I bought it back. The kazoo door is kind of a known issue that I think has a recall. It happens at highway speed and it’s absolutely infuriating.

I don’t think bed liner will fix your kazoo problem but it’s good you where able to save it. I like the look for a dedicated trail rig. If ever get a little samurai or something as a toy I would do it for sure but no way on a daily driver. But if it’s your thing that’s cool. I don’t think it looks bad just not for me.
