Installed the Scosche Qi wireless charger mount.

 

Didn't think this was deserving of its own thread. I have a 2010 MGM with 40k and I was wanting to partially debadge the tailgate. Question is do you think there would still be the outline of them emblem because of possible fading? When I took off my chrome badges I feel like I saw the slightest outline of them. If so do you think that would be something polish could take care of?

 

Try waxing the area first for a mild polish before going heavier. Barcelona Red has some white marks that show on the right side, but those disappear when I wax the area and those dents are barely noticeable.

 

Nothing new. Just a random shot of when I washed it last year. I can't believe it looks so good and I really don't take care if it as well as I should.

 

Replaced my power steering pump yesterday and finally got rid of the awful vibrations the original one made. The fluid that came out of the system looked like swamp water so I flushed it and replaced all of it.

Next up is replacing the idlers whenever the ol UPS man decides to drop them off. Also have front wheel bearings and ignition coils lined up. Gotta start looking into new leaf spring packs as mine are starting to droop. Gosh I hate the fact that it makes my truck look slightly squatted!! Any cost effective stock (or 2 inch lifted packs so I can get rid of my blocks) options out there?

 

Replaced the stock headlights with a set of OEM pro units. Wanted a set for years and finally pulled the trigger. I like subtle.

 

I have seen those and I figure if worse comes to worse I can just bend some of my scrap from my trailer build and make my own. I dont really get the point of those frame cap covers other than to keep large rocks from getting caught in there? I mainly need to find the bolts that hold the stock caps in because the bumper uses them as 2 tie in points at the bottom of the bumper.

It shouldn't be to bad with that low miles if you park in a garage or somewhere out of the sun. I just took mine off last year before I wrapped my tailgate and it was only noticeable at a steep angle with the right lighting. Mine is a 09 with 173k parked outside since I've owned it in '18. A good polish and I'm sure you wont be able to see it.

Here is a pic just before I wrapped it. That is dirt on the tailgate with some blemishing but you can't see where the emblems where.

 

Detailed my truck’s paint today. I neglected the paint for 10 years. The paint was bad. All oxidated, cloudy and rough to the touch.

I washed it, claybar’d it and used a polishing compound.

Look at what came off the paint after claybar!

What a difference!

 

Finally got my 2020 replicas mounted this weekend from @Johnny77 at Factory Style Wheels. Now I want to take off my running boards and paint match my rear bumper and grill to delete all chrome. Highly recommend FSW!

Pro have a blackish chrome back housing.
