I drive on RT90 in NY everyday and it's not like that at all! They drive solo; if in the left lane they are pushing left, right lane right. They also are spaced apart, usually by at least a mile.

Well that's it! As a driver I am limited to how long I can drive for in a day. Usually it's no problem going from Buffalo to Boston then to RI. But with all the slowdowns, delays and accidents I just barely made it!

I am down a deep rabbit hole of finding the machine to do the lawn, snow removal for a 1700 foot long driveway and general yard maintenance (pulling a small trailer/gravel/etc). I’m leaning towards a bigger size Kubota with a front snowblower and under belly mower deck. If it’s got the rear PTO and three point arm/hitch then I should check all the boxes.

If I had that kind of driveway, I'd definitely be looking at a compact utility tractor like a 1025R or equivalent. The x500 is really the minimum size machine I think I'd consider putting a blower on. I can't imagine they work well on anything smaller. If I needed to clear snow on hilly terrain, I doubt it would do well.

If and when I have a bigger driveway I'll have something like this. The 4 wheeler for messing around all summer on too :D

Hell yeah, and down there don't they just ride those on the street year round?

Years ago we lived on the East side and I got t boned by one driving my wife's accord. Cost the deductible for a new quarter panel that couldn't be color matched. Got the whole car painted in the end. Huge pain in the ass. They took off but I know the guy that him me was feeling it.

I considered the blower for my x350 but the terrain behind my barn is too steep to drive it up in snow without 4wd. Been looking at the small kubotas and mahindras since we’re gonna have to do some major landscaping projects in the near future.

There's a Mahindra dealer down the road from me and I notice a lot of people around here have them. I've heard a lot of good about that dealer - they also sell Husqvarna and Ariens so they get a lot of small homeowner business. The closest Deere or Kubota dealers are about an hour drive.

I got a quote for $8800 to do the 2 gardens in front of my house; not to mention the topsoil and seed we want to do in the back yard… easily much cheaper to do it myself and get a decent piece of equipment out of the deal. Gotta convince the boss.

edit: that didn’t even include the stonework I’d like to do.

I got Deere about 15 min away in millbury and mahindra (I believe) next town over in westboro. If I bought kubota, it’d prob have to be used as I don’t really want to spend north of 20 grand on a subcompact with a bucket and backhoe…

The prices are just insane to me. I don’t need the backhoe (father in law has several big pieces of equipment) but with a belly mower and snowblower or even nice blade setup I’m well north of 20k. Plus I have to think the weight of this setup makes mowing a bit harder as the ground can’t be soft

Edit: Also not a huge JD fan after seeing all the “right to repair” stuff floating around the internet and we don’t have a good local support for them anyway. Kubota has been my biggest search but should probably branch out.

They are keeping the truck so much cleaner, and in the snow, I was getting “schlomps” built up on my sliders. They would freeze solid and prohibit the passenger door from opening when they were big enough. Also don’t know if anyone else calls those slush / ice mounds behind the wheels “schlomps” but I do - lol.

I've been running the short ones for a few years. I was given the oversized tire ones at Xmas but haven't had a chance to install them. I'll be giving old set to my neighbor

They are the Rokblokz I bought XL and have them pushed in all the way. They can come out a bit further.
