On my truck when I did a similar setup, I flipped the carrier bearing over so the carrier bearing sat a hair higher. Cured my driveline vibes I had back then.

Not necessarily related to the lift but vibration/noise can also come from the wheel bearing. I also thought that my issue was the needle bearing but it ended up being the wheel bearing.

"Hemp" oil. My guess is that it wasn't hemp.

Hopefully a dumb question but can you mess up the carrier bearing spacer install? I added a half in carrier bearing spacer and now I have a little whine. Notice on this picture the bracket holding the bearing allows for adjustment forward or backwards. I just ignited the bolts not really thinking about aligning anything.

I also installed Spidertrax 1.25” spacers in the front but that was straight forward

Anyone in here good with pinion angles? After installing my Deaver Stage IIs, I got some decent vibrations. Trying to determine what size shim I need and I read through some threads but shit is confusing the fuck out of me lol

You want the bearing under no strain front to back. Adding in those spacers changes its location front to back slightly, so looks right to me.

So a couple thoughts on 1.25'' spidertrax wheel spacers and carrier bearing spacers. I added carrier bearing spacer and it didnt get rid of the slight vibration I developed after installing the add a leaf. Not sure if I should now just remove the spacers from it.

As for the wheel spacers the front feels a little mushy/softer and kind of wants to wonder a littler more on the freeway.

    Thoughts on either of these?

I've always ran no carrier bearing spacer, but have "flipped" the carrier bearing bracket upside down which slightly raises the driveline. Helped with I first did Dakars, now running a different leaf setup though.
And yeah wheel spacers will make the ride softer. You are putting more leverage on the front end parts, including shocks so therfore the ride will be slightly softer. It will also exaggerate any un perfect alignment, since the wheels are pushed out more.

Interesting because I thought you wanted the spacers to help correct the angle after adding a lift in the rear. You are saying that you rotate the bracket so it sits up higher than stock and therefore making it more of an angle?

Thank you. That makes alot of sense. Im having Ome 887 installed this week and an alignment

Can anyone tell me what this line is near the rear leaf springs going to the drum brake?
    upload_2022-2-28_10-30-6.jpg

I just noticed that it's been rubbing on the leaf pack shackle and has now worn through some.

It's only rubbed through the outer layers so far and not the internal tubing. Is this replaceable on my own? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

That there's your parking brake cable

I don't think it's all that terribly difficult to replace, although I've never had to do it.

Like mentioned above, it's the parking brake cable. As long as your parking brake is working you should be fine. Just figure out something to move it away to keep it from rubbing any more. Maybe wrap with some electrical tape or silicone tape if you have any.

Awesome, I'll definitely get it mounted further away and get some silicone tape on it. The parking brake is working with no issues. I didn't even realize that was something to that I needed to check until I just happen to notice it the other day.

If you don't draw blood, you're doing it wrong!
Yup - try to bend the bracket further away from the leaf pack to prevent further rubbing and wear.

Before you wrap/tape up the worn spot, maybe spray some WD40 or PB Blaster in there to prevent any corrosion - if the parking cable gets bound up, seized, or stretched out too much, it could cause weird issues with the e-brake.

I've had my parking brake engage (on it's own) when the axle was at full droop or severely off-camber and it can be alarming when the rear tires lock-up unplanned.

i used some mesh wire sleeve, zip tied at both ends and it has held solid for about 8 months.

had to grind off the bracket that holds that away from the leaf pack when I installed the addAleaf,
