Are these parts useless/worthless?

I took off the chinstrap/air dam and the partial skid plate or whatever they call it from my 2019 TRD sport. I replaced it with the TRD pro skid plate several months ago.
So my question is, do these parts have any value or worth. I am getting tired of moving them around my garage and was considering just trashing them. I am willing to give them away but it’s her as worthless as I think I will just trash them. Any thoughts?

Worthless from a cash perspective. But good to keep to give to the next owner.

These trucks are worth more back to stock than modified if decide to ever sell or trade it in. I would suggest keeping everything you take off stock hold onto it and then return it back to the truck when you turn it in or trade it or whatever when you sell later. Then you can sell the accessories and/or modifications you did here or wherever.
Best way to get you some of your money back.

There isn't a single person who wouldn't buy your truck because it has a Pro skid plate and not the chin strap.

    Unburden your life.

I mean, a quick scan of the 3rd gen trucks for sale on this site will show you how inaccurate this is. Sure the dealership will tell you it's not worth any more with the mods then sell the truck with a jacked up price because of the mods.

Toss it. The OR's don't come with the Chin Spoiler from the factory. Chances are most people who may buy your Taco down the road won't even know it's missing.

I havent taken mine off, yet but plan to dump it when i do. It’s not worth it especially when you have a skid plate as others have mentioned. Also, the new buyer won’t even notice. I personally didnt even know it had one before I bought my truck when researching the truck.

I’m not sure that’s accurate, it seems the BST forum is filled with posts from people who have sold or are planning on selling their Taco’s and are now selling their mods.

    Nothing yet
Throw it away, and then sell or give the skid plate away to someone here.

Funny thing about those items. I have a 2021 sr5 and removed chinstrap, skid plate, spare tire, grill and shocks. Had them all on a tacoma FB page for FREE for 2 months with no takers. I separated them all (except chinstrap) and asked $20 for each item and they all sold within 1 week

Dealerships prefer stock trucks in trade. I traded my 2018 Sport and at their request they removed the skid plate, reinstalled the air dam. They also removed the TRD CAI and TRD exhaust which they then installed on the 2019 OR I bought. They would have kept the Homelink mirror but I negotiated for them to trade that out for the plain mirror that came the new truck.

And if you had said no to that request they'd still have cut you a check for the same amount of money.

In today's over inflated market nobody is going to quibble about light modifications in a trade in or sale situation.

I generally keep my cars/trucks 10 to 12 years so trade-in value doesn’t concern me too much. I guess I’ll take the thin half skid plate that I took off the truck and put it on my trailer with the rest of the scrap metal going to the metal yard and the chinstrap I’ll just put it in recycling. I’m just tired of tripping over them and moving them around the garage. I suppose I don’t see myself going back and reinstalling them at any time.

Thanks you all for all your words of wisdom and suggestions. It really is appreciated!

That’s not the point. If you return it to stock you get the value of your vehicle and some resale on your investment on upgrades that you replaced. It has nothing to do with the fact that someone would buy one way or another but you’re gonna lose money if you leave those upgrades on it. That’s all I’m saying.

Keep when you go back to stock if you plan on selling.

I know a few bozo's that will take the owners manual out before selling just, to make an extra 20-40 dollars off of someone else...

Check on eBay and your local classified listings. The parts are worthless to enthusiasts but have commercial value for people doing DIY crash repairs, etc. You might be able to coax $100 total out of these parts.

The the thing with eBay, is the freaking shipping. Plus I’ve noticed they charge you whether you sell it or not. But good point it does not cost me anything to throw it up on craigslist or have the Mrs. put it up on Facebook marketplace.

    P.S. Funny Meme there … :)

I mention eBay as a way to judge the item's commercial value.
