    Howdy TW,

I'm looking to upgrade from my stock 2021 SR5 tires to get something a little better on hilly roads in the ice and snow, also with some mild offroading, and was thinking of going with a set of 265/70/16's or 265/75/16's. I have no lift or suspension modifications of any kind, and just wanted to see if anyone else has any thoughts or recommendations about upgrading to AT tires of one of those sizes.

Want to make sure a brand I get is well liked and that nobody has any issue with tire rub on a stock suspension.

    So far leaning towards:

    Cooper Discoverer AT3 4S
    Falken Wild Peak AT3W 265/75R16

I'll still be mostly on dry pavement and highways, so I'd like to get some input on noise level from anyone who has a set of these, or another recommended brand.

I've searched around the forums for some recent threads but it seems a lot of them are on TRD's, or trucks with lifts, etc.

P-rated all terrains sound like your ticket. A second option is to run a summer/winter combo.

I changed my stock tires over to 265/75/16 General Grabbers ATX, Load E, no lift, stock wheels. Very pleased

I have the Falkens on my truck and love em. Same size. They're beast in the snow. I can only really hear the tires if I try to listen for them. Very quiet.

The general grabbers work really well in deep snow on my tundra but very difficult to balance 100%...seemed the tire shop, or anyone else could get them not to shake at all speeds. Finally ended up with the goodyear adventure tires which rode nice and balanced perfect. They were a decent all around a/t tire. I bought them again, and now on my tacoma.

I was lucky, my buddy has his own shop, took care of them and I have not had any problems, just hope it stays that way.

Honestly my stock tires feel like they need a balance or alignment as the truck is shaking a little at certain speeds, and actually worse on flat highways. I lowered the PSI and it got rid of some of the "jitters" that happened when I ran over small bumps or slightly uneven roads, but it still feels out of balance. Cabin and seats shimmy quite a bit at certain speeds.

Toyota dealer drove it and said it was "fine", meaning that it wasn't a problem or a safety issue, and didn't bothering balancing or checking alignment, so I'm just going forget about them and if I get new tires have the shop balance them properly and maybe do a road force test or something.

Did you end up getting either the Coopers or Falkens?

I went with Coopers and have been quite happy so far.
