Also got a visit from one of the neighbors across the way earlier on today. Came by and introduced himself and welcomed me to the area. Calls himself Fast Eddy, and showed up in a pretty cool old truck!



Invited me to a car show coming up in a couple months that just down the road. Guy has to be in his 80's, but is still pretty damn spry!

Time to get a bigger trap... squirrel(s) got into my basement somehow. Ate holes through drywall and tore through a box with childhood things in it, and a hand made quilt from a long gone neighbor. I'm ready to sit with a shotgun and nvg's ala modern Elmer Fudd if I have to.

Try a have-a-heart trap with a small bowl of sunflower seed. Works every time. Dispatch accordingly.

 

That's the plan, except substituting the seeds for peanut butter. Less mess if they get out.

 

Squirrels can be very destructive. Just like any rodent they'll gnaw the hell out of things to keep there teeth short. But they're big so they do twice the damage of a mouse. They've been in the basement of my aunt's house.

 

My husband and I reminisce about the ‘Christmas Squirrel’ around the holidays from about five years back. Caught one coming out of the coop after stuffing his face with grain. Picked his ass off mid-chew with the .22 from a cracked window 75’ out. It went down in infamy. Not on my watch.
Hav-a-hart trap with bread, peanut butter, sunflower seeds (basically anything) and drown the bastards. They are super destructive.
