Redwing work boots FTW! I've got to get my last pair resouled so I have a spare pair. You cant always do that but for me and working mostly in the dirt they stay nice even after the sole is gone.

Suggestions welcome. I like the style. Do you know any women who have them and love them? I'm looking to replace a simple pair of brown lace up boots I've had for years.

Heres the current ones I have. Only had them a month and a half. The BOA dials are pretty cool with no shoe laces to get caught on anything, laces shouldn't wear out due to being steel cable, you can tie both of your boots at once and they really cant come untied. Only thing I dont like is they dont always cinch up all the way down to your toes when you first tighten them and so as you walk the slack down by your toes makes up by your ankles loosen up if that makes sense. It's not that bad it's just you have to tighten them up again but its easy.

So how do you like the Tecovas? I have been looking at them but I have worn Lucchese for years now.

I worked with a female co worker who wore Irish Setters which I believe are the less fancy Redwing boots. I think Irish Setters are like GMC to Redwings which are Cadillacs. The only other lady I know who might wear them is my boss but I'm not to sure and haven't heard her complain. You really cant go wrong buying them. Pretty much all the construction workers and a few mechanics I know wear them. I know when I switched over to them the back of my heels hurt like crazy but it was from me going from hiking boots to work/construction boots and a different brand.

Those remind me of these. My father and shoe guy always tell me they are a favorite among roofers. The reason why is they are flat soled all the way across the bottom which gives them better traction while standing on the roof and they clean off better due to not having the indentation by the front of your heel if you know what I mean.

There a general consensus on wearing the dudes with socks? I got sweet ankles and would prefer to show them off sock less, but am prone to smelly feet.
