I ordered a new compressor and clutch from McGeorge. I tried just replacing the clutch and had my buddy at Toyota evac the system and charge it and still just had the flashing AC light. Tried swapping relays, etc etc and still nothing. Sooo I decided Im going to replace my compressor.

The compressor showed up the other day, Im going to swap the new clutch from my stock compressor onto the new one (the compressor I got from Toyota was MAHLE btw not a Delphi or Denso?) I have a new denso condenser and expansion valve, new orings/seals, a flush gun and new AC line filter on the way. Is there anything Im missing?

I plan on pulling everything apart and flushing the lines and from what I read I can flush the evaporator from the engine bay? Ive never done AC work like this but Im fairly mechanically inclined. Im assuming I just push denatured alcohol through one line of the evap until clear and then flush in the opposite direction to "backflush"?

Then on reassembly I need to add x amount of Pag 46 to the evap, x amount to the condenser and dump out oil from compressor and refill with x amount to all equal 5.5oz IIRC?

Im just trying to make sure I have everything right bc Id like to not do this again for a while

    Check the AC amplifier.

I've replaced that and tested the sensor on the compressor. Pretty sure the compressor is fucked

Do you have 12 volts at the mag clutch when the A/C is commanded on?

Honestly I have to check. My buddy pulled vacuum and then charged the system after I replaced the clutch. The compressor would click, ac light would stay solid for about 5 seconds and then start flashing. After swapping relays, checking pick up sensor, and replacing clutch + amplifier, I just assumed compressor was the culprit.

even with a good charge the pressure switch could be culprit. You can jumper it out if you’re sure the system pressure is within the compressor safe operation range.

Well when we first charged it the compressor tried to kick on once enough refrigerant was added. There was the click/kick of the clutch/compressor trying to engage, the truck rpms jumped very slightly, orange light stayed on for a few seconds and then just started blinking. I'll check a bit before tearing into it but I already have the parts in hand or on the way so tearing into it is going to happen either way. It's an 06 so it was probably inevitable.

if you shotgunned it I wouldn’t discount anything, new parts these days don’t have great track record. Again, trust but verify.
