VW has been teasing this forever…looks like it is almost finally here. Used own a Westy, so slightly excited, especially if the 4WD comes to market.

Tried to find the least annoying YouTube reviewer…though I find most of them effin’ annoying. LOL! Most of the others wouldn’t show much of the interior, this one gives more of peek.

Awesome thanks! Saw a video of the cargo version. Best to turn the sound off…gaaaad I find most YT reviewers highly annoying. LOL!

Yeah they will! I would be interested in the cargo version as we have no use for rear passenger seats. No one is really making a compact 4WD cargo van…maybe the Ford Transit, but it isn’t exactly compact.

Really like the Ford Transit Connect or Nissan NV 200 for my needs, but not available in AWD/4WD.

The LFP one (250 range) for 37.5k, NMC one (340 range) for 50k+

Doesn't look hideous. Too bad you can't get the cheap one and put on the solar roof (only on the 69k one)

I was going to splurge and buy a Rivian but I got an email just now about price increases. My $80k preorder truck is now $94k and that's just too much for me. Even $80k was a stretch but I was justifying it with the thoughts of a quality truck with badass performance and a decent tax credit that brought it more in line with high end model gas full size trucks.

I couldn't picture myself in a Rivian, and not because it's an EV. The smug factor is too high. I'd by a gas powered Jeep Wrangler if I wanted a capable off road vehicle. Jeeps are probably more reliable. I don't need a diesel tow rig, but at 94,000 I'd buy a diesel tow rig instead of a Rivian.

A Jeep more reliable than a Rivian? How would you know?

    How would anyone know?

I would like to see a 90 day endurance test with adequate time allowed for the Rivian to charge. Against a gas powered Jeep Wrangler. This would be 90 days of driving off road, mild offroad nothing difficult, 10 hours of non stop driving daily, 14 hours off for rest for 90 days.

    Let the better platform win.

So you don't know. Just checking since you made seem like statement of fact.

Also the Rivian has done 8 hour stints on the Trans America Trail without charging.

I seen Jeeps do all kinds of things win wars, deliver the mail, put out brush fires, run the 1/4 mile. There probably isn't a commercial application a Jeep hasn't performed, even if was the worst platform for the task.

The only thing I have ever seen a Rivian do is drive thru a puddle on the internet.

Has a Rivian ever been taken out and driven for 90 days in a row? Just like a daily driver, nothing more than what a normal consumer would use a vehicle for.

That's your arbitrary requirement. Yes Rivians have been driven more than 90 days in a row. They were delivered to customers already.
