I have one of those in my brake tool box too, can't have too many tools after all. ;)

Full disclosure: Part of the reason I have so many tools is I can't find them so I buy more.
I recently discovered my drum auger under the seat of the daily van -- probably has 10,000 miles on it, last fall I purchased a second one because I couldn't find the one that was lurking under the seat... :annoyed:

(we won't mention my invisible collection of 6 in 1 screwdrivers)

lets just say my tool storage and organization is far from being 5S approved, but those who have worked with me are amazed I know exactly where most everything is and have been amazed at what I am able to pull out when needed with minimal scrounging.

I refuse to brag about not loosing a 10mm, I know what will happen….

Oh yes, I survived all of the industrial quality and organization programs...
Managers (throw it all out) and Maintenance (we use this) were always at opposite ends of those programs.

    My personal stuff is at about a 1s -- I don't even rate a capital S. :pout:

    Fuck you got a link?

I went with this set since it's the type Vatozone rents out, I assume should be a little better quality than some of the other stuff on Amazon.

I am curious to see how the pliers work. I have always used a combination of pliers, screw drivers and anything else I can scrounge in the garage to do it, and have gotten it done plenty of times, but it's always a fight. Anything that makes a job faster is better right?

Here something a little bit different. I travel for work, so my stuff is on and off tractor trailers and cargo planes. I guess you could say I professionally wrench on some stuff. This box is a Knaack 112 that has had a steel cart welded around it. The thin gauge steel base on the bottom of Knaack boxes just aren't strong enough. Fork pockets run down the whole length for ease of moving it around. Top open box for random larger items. 30" wide and 77" long.

The inside organization is always a work in progress, but I cut out the open shelves on the left and put in a custom six drawer cabinet to make better use of the space most notably.

The drum brake tools aren't all that expensive so you can have more than one kind of the same tool and sometimes trying a different tool suddenly makes the spring pop right on. One thing is sure though, after you buy a few of the proper tools you will never want to try it with pliers and screwdrivers ever again.

I have the pliers too but almost exclusively use that hook. And there a tool for taking off the pin springs I like too.

Still on the fence about the drawer organizers I posted a bit back, but this parts tray came in pretty handy during a radiator swap on my GX today. Might pick up a few more for larger projects...

Old school parts tray is an egg carton. You put the parts in the tray in the order that you remove them. Work backwards when reassembling.

I don't disagree. This one is nice since it much larger and has multiple sized compartments. Would never be able to fit ratchets, wrenches, screwdrivers, extensions and parts in an egg carton. The hardware below is in order of removal, left to right.

For $11, this one has longevity and is oil/coolant etc resistant.

I got the Harbor Freight knockoff grypmat silicone one on a coupon a while back. I agree that having a large holder is NICE. The large HF one is perfect size to sit on top of the engine cover or has enough bend/flex to sit and stay put on a quarter panel or wherever.

For $11 though that little rigid one would be nice for storing parts out of longer term things where the silicone one is nice for stuff you're shuffling around on the floor or using on a weird shaped spot. Might have to pick one up. Love to have options.

I have some plastic stanleys that have worked for various projects. Haven't put a ton of weight on them, but they did hold a piece of 3'x6' 3/16" plate while I cut it up a-okay
