A little of this and a little of that.
    Good evening all,

I don’t have any cordless nailers, but I’d be lost without my other cordless tools. Roll up to a job not needing any external power is nice.

Got called in to work tomorrow. So much for a day at the gun club.

I hope you have many more oil changes to do Bill. Oil changes and tire rotations are something that I truly enjoy.

All the best to your Papa! Hopefully he can get home tomorrow.

    Congrats!

Evening :hattip: Andy.... not close enough after today... HR screwed the pooch.... they had found someone to take my sidekick's job, since she moved on.... but what happens when you wait too long to offer the job?!?!? Yup, she'd already gotten another job. So there might be no one there in a couple of weeks... How's things out there? You get your leak fixed?

 evening weesa.... Yes, I've been good for 22 days now - not that I'm counting or anything.... How're things up your way? You have a talk with the boss man?

things are OK here. work is still insanely busy. boss is still insanely dumb. weather is getting better though - it was 50* again today. much better than the -25* we had a week ago.

If I could work PART time and have NO DEALINGS with the one person, I'd help out for a short time. There would be no volunteering!!! They'd have to pay me!! Sounds like spring is on the way....

how my day went and why i wasn't around much...
started with a 2 hour meeting. at 7am.
    then onto the regular biz
BOSS - when are you going to be done with project x?
WEESA - dunno, coworker Y is still working on it.
B - (5 minutes later) do you think you'll have project x done soon?
    W - dunno, haven't started yet.
    B - why not?!?!?
W - see reply above. coworker Y is still working on it
Y - (an hour later) project is ready for you
B - when are you going to be done?
W - just getting started, dunno. and BTW the info you told me you were tracking down? yeah, dont have that yet. when will that be done? i need that to finish my work
    B - ...
    three hours later
B - you need to get this done.
W - still waiting on you
B - call coworker Z. (because boss can't answer my questions which i kinda suspected all along)
W - (to Z) can you leave the job you're on and drive over to the other job and get this info for me? blah blah, explain, yada yada
Z - (text) pulling up the driveway now
    B - have you called Z yet?
W - yes. hes on site now, waiting to hear back
B - does he know what info is holding you up?
    W - yes
B - when will he have it for you? how long is this going to take?
W - dunno, hes knows i'm waiting for him though
    B - i'm going to call him
W - HE FUCKING KNOWS I'M WAITING FOR HIM
B - his phone went to voicemail
    W - i'm sure he'll call when he's done
B - can you call him
    W - ...
    hour later
Z - hey, no cell service at the house (we knew that) and while i was driving out my truck slid off the road. had to wait for help to pull me out of the ditch
B - is this done yet
    W - ignoring B, talking to Z
W - working, working. changing everything
coworker A - (damn well know she's sitting right beside boss) are you working on project X? when are you going to be done?
W - desk flip. expletive rant. continue ignoring B and A
    meeting
B - when are you going to be done with project X?
W - well a lot sooner if i didn't have to deal with meetings and multiple interruptions
    B - OK so soon?
    W - :angrygirl:

I want to like that because you tell a great and identifiable story.

I don't want to like that because I can identify with the story...

he asked me at least 4 times when i was going to be done and several other things i had to answer multiple times for him today.
funny thing is even with my coworker stranded in the ditch and unable to call me i spend more time waitng for the boss to not answer my questions than i did for my coworker and for me to wrap up my work. so who's slowing things down? the boss. no surprise there.

EDIT - on my 3rd glass of wine now

That reminds me of a couple of times repairing some aircraft part.... MOC calls every half hour asking for ETIC - each time half hour or an hour added to ETIC!! "why is it taking so much longer?" Because I have to stop what I'm doing, put tools down, walk across the shop (was a good sized shop) to answer the phone and then go back and remember what I was doing - if laying out a rivet pattern :annoyed:!!! They quit calling  and I got their parts done when I said I would. So annoying when they keep asking. Hope you got your project done.

 pretty much the same thing here - just minus the airplane hangar. losing so much time trying to remember where i left off each time i get interrupted. my standard answer used to be "about 20 minutes longer than it was before i had to answer your call/message" o_O
