Finally got my HUD installed last night. Install was easy. OBDII plug didn't work, but the new plug did. Got it dialed in and I think it's really cool. Shitty instructions...gotta love the Chinese. There are a lot of things I would do different if it was my company, but one of them is developing instructions that didn't originate in Chinese.

For those with the hud, how is the sound interference on the tweeter? I’ve got all new infinity components in the taco and don’t want to sacrifice the tunes for this mod.

After using the HUD awhile, I finally got the MPH down to almost exact like on the display. When using cruise control both show same MPH.
With the vehicle stopped and MPH shows ZERO(0)MPH, press the - button till MPH flashes, press the -or + depending if your over or under your MPH ,then press the OK tab, MPH stops flashing.Test drive and repeat till you get the results you want.

    Sad day, my HUD brothers...
    Dead_HUD_xmastree-1.jpg
I drove over the same train track I do nearly every day, but today I got the gift of an early Christmas tree display (with sound!) and the HUD was blank. I pulled over, turned off the truck and back on... then Christmas tree w/ beeping returned. So I took off the steering covers and checked the wiring harness, it all looked intact. Nothing loose, nothing hanging or exposed wires. But to be safe, I unplugged the harness and restored the original plug into position. Drove home. No issues. Drove around more, no issues. I believe the culprit was the HUD. I've now removed it and am moving on with my life.
Good luck, hope this doesn't happen to you.

    Smart move binning that POS.

Giving KTJO 4X4 :puke: direct access to an OBDII in your truck is like giving Putin or "The Panda" the passcode to our nuclear launch codes. Here I am binning an MB ECU and an Overhead Console for sparking a frikkin dome light and blowing a 7.5A fuse totaling well over $2k in dealer costs and to think that HUD has direct connectivity to damned near every onboard ECU in the truck. Thanks....no thanks!

EDIT FOR RANDOM THOUGHT: Anybody here wondering if she's covered for bricking someone's electrical system due to poor design or QC issues? o_O

Is there a way to adjust the brightness of the HUD? I was driving home last week during a heavy rain storm at night, and I run the dash lights at like half brightness. Wasnt sure if there is a way to dim the HUD?

    Another victim here....

I've had the door cup lights installed for a few weeks and just noticed my power mirrors no longer work. I checked/replaced the 7.5A fuse at position #4. Also removed the harness from the equation altogether and still no action at all from my mirrors.

The LEDs work fine so I don't think it's a power issue. Anyone want to let me borrow their mirror switch to test functionality? A new one is $129. Canton, OH

Emailed ktjo for support. Let me hold my breath and wait for an answer

Reading your post sent me right out to my truck to test the mirrors and windows. Phew! Everything is functioning as it should. I hope you get your issue sorted out.

It's been a month since I tried to contact KTJO about the broken bowl light I received in my set......(insert the sound of birds chirping here).

I would like to get something like this. The Mustang I rented (Taco was getting some work done after a confrontation with some mailboxes) had this and it was a really nice effect. The thing stopping me is after having followed this thread for quite awhile, is the complete lack of customer care, so not really trusting sending any money to this vendor. It's really too bad, because the idea is sound.

Pull ALL the aftermarket shit off the truck that even remotely comes close to the mirror power and control and visit the dealer and remember, YOU KNOW NOTHING!

My bowl light story is a litany of poor customer service, sprinkled with two personal DSAs (Dumb Shi* Attacks). I guess the whole story may help others debating their purchases. I ordered my first set of bowl lights right as the Ice Blue option came available. I had ordered Blue so I contacted KTJO, first by email (no answer) and then FB Messenger as king to swap to Ice Blue. Days later I got an answer on Messenger - I was told it was to late, the order had probably shipped. Next day I was told it hadn't and that they would swap the order. The next day I got a shipment order reflecting Blue. I sent another FB message asking for status....no answer. I tried several times with no response, received the lights (Blue, not Ice Blue) and put them up for sale here on TW. That day I got a response from KTJO saying "Oh, I've been carrying a box of Ice Blue around in my truck for a week. They must have been yours."

Then I went through the Grab Handle fun. Wrong sized nut/bolt but I'd anticipated with seeing everyone else's issues. I still mess with i from time to time to get the lower bolt cover to fit properly and to get the handle to line up properly with the A pillar.

So, I swore I would not buy from them again....only to succumb after months of really liking the bowl lights, reading the positive results people were having with them despite the continuing customer service issues. Early one morning, still working on my first cup of coffee I gave in and ordered a set....only to realize I had again ordered Blue!!! What an idiot. I immediately went to the KTJO page and found their contact page that says if you contact them within 24 hours of order there is no restock fee if you cancel. I figured (but in my heart knew it was fruitless) that they would monitor this contact page and I could swap easily. No answer, blue lights shipped and I sold them....again.

At that point, my stubbornness took over and I reordered...for the 3rd time. Ice Blue this time. They arrived and everything went well until I was installing the last one - right passenger - only to see it had a broken weld and the insert was loose allowing the light to fall out. Emailed them immediately - that was on 2 February. Never got an answer...didn't expect I would. A member here sent me an extra he had and I was able to solder the original and used some super glue to keep the insert in place.

The lights are awesome, IMHO - one of her better products - but I really struggled with the issue of rewarding her for terrible customer service. I relented...but won't do it again. I am certainly not without blame with my inaccurate ordering...but none of that excuses the horrendous customer service.

Great write up sir. I guess my first question is where was your 7 element to keep you straight and prevent you from doing all that?

All kidding aside, this just reinforces my hesitancy in dealing with this business, and I very much apprecitate your time in writing that up. o7
