I read the other Maint Req and have a question too. I just got a 09 taco and near 5000 miles (4800'ish) and when I start the car the maint req light flashes but does not stay on. My guess is that I am nearing 5000 miles and it wants an oil change...is that correct? I changed my oil at 3000 so if it is a "change your oil" light I should be good to go but if it is something else....any ideas?

Also, my low tire pressure light keeps coming on. My tires are set at 31 psi but someone told me that it could be the tire pressure in the spare tire under the truck....any truth to that?????

most of the time it is the spare tire. You will need to lower it to access the valve. You should raise it back up with the valve down to make it easier to fill in the future.

I am around Sacramento and the door sayd 29 psi but since it started getting cold I went up to 31 psi because of the sensors and the colder weather. That worked for a little while but it started coming on again yesterday so I figured it might be the spare. I will test it and see what happens.

what's your source? I have to doubt this until I hear the rational behind it. Keeping your spare aired up is important and rarely gets done. I'd hate to be out somewhere with a flat tire and then I find my spare is also flat.

09 def does not have the TPMS in the spare. since i changed my tires up, i have been running wo/the spare on the truck...i know stupid. once i change my wheels im going to get a compatible spare setup. nonetheless, no light wo/the spare.
