My friend is putting the CLS up for sale, and my dad has been offered the chance to drive it, but he refuses to because he's afraid he might want to buy it!



It has a twin-turbo V8, I've driven it before, and I have to say it's a pretty sweet car!

So the car is registered and insured, but somewhere along the line the registration paperwork was misplaced; I did not feel like getting pulled over by a Doylestown cop in a car registered in West Virginia that I didn't own. The car was and still is registered, and the proof of insurance is in the glovebox, but I wasn't about risk getting my friend's car towed!

Also, the Benz is registered in West Virginia, but it was purchased in Pennsylvania in 2017; My friend immediately registered it in WV, but never bothered to remove the Pennsylvania inspection stickers. In West Virginia, only vehicles older than five years old have to get a safety inspection, and there is no emissions testing. The Pennsylvania inspection stickers expired in 2018, and one time in 2019 a PA cop going in the opposite direction saw this and flipped a U-turn; He got in behind my friend and was about to pull him over when he saw the West Virginia plate. He promptly turned down a side street and disappeared; Also, for the record, even if WV required inspections on all vehicles, a PA cop would have no authority to enforce WV motor vehicle code (i.e. an expired out-of-state inspection sticker) so long as the vehicle carried a valid WV plate.
