It's basically focusing a broad section of heat energy into a small point that can melt. Crazy

No way water temp or chemicals from the car wash could do that. Agreed with all, it is sun reflection, is your garage door a mirror?

I agree with many of the others. It is due to reflection. I have a neighbor whose windows scorch lines in my front yard. The lines just move around throughout the year depending on the season and where the sun is in the sky. I have stood in front of the reflection before and it is pretty damn hot. Surprised the grass has never caught fire.

Poor car wash people. Have you already blamed them for this? There’s no way this is their doing. You would notice this right after the truck comes out of the car wash. Luckley, you can easily change those melted parts. Don’t even go to the dealer. Buy the parts and change it yourself. You’ll save a lot $$$

gotta love plastic. It's the greatest material for making trucks and cars with.

I gotta add...I'm from Hawai'i. Those snowflakes look killahs!

    Check build thread!
I’m pretty sure that’s not from a car wash, or if it is, could you ask them where they got their water heater? Thanks.

That's definitely from sunlight reflection off a mirrored glass building

Well I went back and reread what he wrote and he clearly says he went through a car wash multiple times…I don’t know about where you live but every drive through car wash where I live have chemicals and head dryers all are part of the (car wash) so car wash = damage :notsure:

It’s definitely sun reflection off of double paned windows. It happened to the grill surround on my taco. Toyota replaced it (they didn’t know what caused it and neither did I at the time). I began parking facing a different direction and it never happened again.
