Remember when you could buy a sack of Sensimilla that you could rest your head on after you got high for $10.00

 

The Mini skirt was about 3” longer than today.

 

I don’t recall that at all. If it was in late ‘69 to late ‘75 I was not watching TV much.

 

Every office had one too, next to the postage scale.

Then they invented the wet-sponge thing. They quickly got stinky. Germs would grow on that stamp glue.

 

The stamp licker was, unknowingly, a very valuable tool!
The glue on envelops and stamps was made from horses. Well...
one of the patients seen by my Uncle when he was in medical school was suffering from tetanus. They had contracted it when they cut their tongue licking an envelope!
(Uncle Jim said it was the worse suffering he has ever witnessed anybody endure, says so still to this day. That was in 1968.)

So I like the new self-adhesive products of today too.

 

Happen to be the youngest of your family?

I am and was the remote control as well. Same for my bride.

 

I remember waiting in line for gas in the early 1970's and people would get pissed and fight if someone tried to cut in.

Growing up in King County, Seattle area: we didn't have to dial an area code for most of the western side of the Cascade mountains along Washington, you just dialed the 7 digits

 

I lived in a town so small that you only had to dial the last four digits of the phone number. In college, we were on a party line.

 

When I was a kid, our home phone was known as "Yukon" 5-3082. The first two numbers were 98. Not sure why they didn't just call out those first two numbers, but the adults always said, "our number is Yukon 5-3082".

The local bar was known as the "Yukon Inn".

 

Last time i got a handwritten report card i was in 1sr grade. Then they switched to typed

 

All those good grades, this obviously isn't yours.

 

Remember when you had fights with the kids in your neighborhood on a Saturday and then asked them to play street hockey on Sunday and no one thought twice about it.

 

Remember when concert GA tickets were the cheap tickets

I had the handwritten report cards, but you got better grades than I did.

 

Speaking of school, who remembers the good ol board of education? I stole this from the Science teacher’s file cabinet, the last day of school, in the 8th Grade.

I suppose I must have felt entitled to it, because I became well acquainted with it, in junior high. I have to admit I deserved every single one I got. I also deserved a lot more for things I didn’t get caught doing, like stealing this paddle!! LOL
