My buddy has a diamondback on his F150. It's really nice. He mounted 1UP bike racks on top, which work well. You could definitely work out some FrontRunner or similar bar system to add cargo capacity above the bed.

I thought about doing my tails with the extra tint I have but really I want a different style altogether so probably not worth the time. What are you getting next?

Is that bolted in? Do you have to remove in order to remove the mat?

I looked at other options and realized most were either just flashy and overly futuristic, junk, or over $500 and I couldn't justify the expense. If I do it in the future I'll do it as a two piece application using 3M vinyl cutting tape to hide the seams.

Probably either a motorcycle (possibly electric) or a Miata. 3 years later I should be back in the continental US and I'll probably buy another Taco. It's a long story that I don't want to clutter up this thread with a third time.

A week ago it was plans for a bicycle - now it's a motorcycle. Did you get a warning of the elevated terrain in HI? lol

I just sold my wife's Miata a couple of months ago. I miss it already. That sucker stuck to the roads in corners like it had vacuum! Not kidding when I say it would take corners with a recommend speed of 35 mph at 70 mph! This was on CO mountain roads with sweet curves, views, and no other traffic. Scared the hell out of my wife but I was smiling so big my face hurt for two days!

Lol, I may have said "bike" but "bicycle" was never the intended mode of transportation :p

and yeah, even my Mazda3 (RIP) handled amazingly well, so I know I'll enjoy a Miata. If I do get a Miata, after a few years and building a decent workshop I'd like to do an LS3 conversion and make an absolutely epic roadster.

That will be years down the road, and probably not posted to this thread :D

The idea is to follow the same path as Flyin' Miata's HABU, but in either a satin British Racing Green or a burnt orange similar to the 30th Anniversary Edition, and there's plenty of photos and videos of that one if you want to kill some time and drool. I'm also thinking about doing a full carbon fiber swap on the front clip. I've got an idea to pretty unique racing stripe up the hood and trunk lid using this stuff: https://compositeenvisions.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/f-1817-sample2-scaled.jpg

Of course the realist in me doubts that I'll be ready to tackle that project within the next 10 years due to frequent moving due to military stuff.

A little bit of this, and a little bit of that.
I have the MT also, but as far as I know, it just depends on if your truck has the AT with the key start, or the push to start. Kinda going in the opposite direction, but holy hell am I happy that I got rid of the stock shift knob. such a weird shape and size. I ended up just getting a TRD PRO MT knob from my local dealership, and I have to say, it was worth literally every penny.

yeah, the stock knob looks and feels like a small half ripped open old baseball or something. I installed a Mazda3 shift knob and it feels perfect in my hand but that's likely because I spent the 8 years before buying the truck rowing through the gears in a Mazda3.

That's the perfect description of what the stock knob is. Absolutely terrible. Unbelievably slippery too.

    Just getting started.
Tackling the chrome and decided to give the Plasti-dip method a try. Easy enough to apply, but I'm not sure how well this will hold up, but at least it's "reversible."

I had a Mustang for a rental while the Taco was in the shop. Was never into Fords, but damn, I loved driving that thing. When it all settles down, I will have one.......

Just be careful around pedestrians. Mustangs have a bad tendency to act like a dog that wants to say hi to every human it sees, especially if there's a crowd.
