Maybe I hallucinated. That was on Treasure Coast Toyota of Stuart's website - Martin County. Give it a go and see if you get the same.

My wife wanted a Telluride last year. It was like looking for a unicorn, they didn’t exist. She ended up with a VW Atlas Cross Sport. Crazy times.

We’re trading in our 2020 Telluride EX for the new electric Kia EV6. We’re getting what we paid for it new two years and 34,000 miles ago, and getting the EV6 at MSRP.

Must be a reigonal thing because our toyota dealer(Toyota of Scranton)Pa. has atleast 20 used tacoma's on the lot,as do a few other dealerships, now 4runners are far and few to be seen.

AYYYYEEE add me to that list. But F*** Vandergriff. Have bought a few trucks from them over the years and they wanted 8k over msrp for the truck I wanted. I use to sell them parts when I worked at the Oreilly around the corner a little over 15 years ago. They might be the closet but they will never see my truck in there for service after the way they tried to do me this year.

I'm waiting until things return to normal and we can once again ride up on their lot, get out and burn their crops, ride their horses and breed their women. I loved the good old days...

    Oh look, another mod....

I didn't buy my truck there, and the ONLY reason I go there is for warranty work and Toyota Care work. Once the Toyota Care runs out, I have a local mechanic in Kennedale that I trust to do all my maintenance. He worked on the last three cars that I owned.

Anyone in SE Texas/SW Louisiana needing a good, independent mechanic: Eddie's Toyota in Silsbee Texas. Eddie has been working on my Toyotas since 1989. He was formerly the local Silsbee Toyota dealership's lead mechanic for sixteen years, then went independent about twenty years ago. He ONLY works on Toyotas and always has a parking lot full of them to work on as anyone in the know around here KNOWS that Eddie is THE mechanic to use instead of the Toyota dealerships. He works on mostly Tacomas and 4Runners. He stays up on the latest Toyota tech because his nephew is now the lead mechanic at the Toyota dealership and attends all of Toyota's tech training meetings. If Eddie runs into something new he just calls his nephew who researches it on Toyota's database and tells Eddie what the solution is: cuts and pastes procedure into an email and sends it over to Eddie. If it is really something new, his nephew comes over after work and takes care of it. PM me and I'll get you his phone number. Eddie has never gouged me, not even once. Very reasonably priced. You don't come across Blessings like Eddie too many times in life.

I heard that Toyota was closing down their retail locations, I don't think any of the north American locations will be effected. Since those are not owned by Toyota.

It's so low I don't even know or care, especially with Solar and special EV charging rates at night.

The two Stealerships near me, Conicelli and Team Toyota (where I purchased my two yotas) have hardly any cars on their lots. Located in the Suburbs of PA (Delco) their over flow lots have been empty for over a year now. We managed to buy a RAV4 and a TACOMA at the same time in October 2020-right before everything went insane with supplies. I have seen ZERO tacoma's on each of their lots. The one stealership had a FJ crusier with 140k miles and they wanted $32k for it. Also randomly had a 2018 Lexus GX with 35k miles on it for $55k. Sales guy came out to see if I would sell my 2013 WRX. And I threw out a number of $17k and he said that could work no problem. I laughed and walked away. Meanwhile they also had a 2016 WRX with 30k miles being sold for $37k! The market is just absurd right now. And I feel bad for anyone who is trying to buy a Toyota presently.

    Agreed.

I heard some economist talking about the vehicle supply and demand issues the other today.

He was saying used vehicles are more expensive than new ones now because people who need cars immediately are willing to pay more for a used car that they can have immediately because it’s on the lot, rather than buying a new car and waiting for it to be built. Wild.

2016 Nissan Leaf, we charge it to 80% charge at least once a week since my wifes drive isnt that far for work. No real change in electric bill. We usually charge it when it hits 20% battery capacity. I think we put in around 25 KwH of juice into it and at $0.18 per KwH (after taxes and fees) it' like $4.50 a week for her to charge, if we even need to. Once it hits 20% state of charge we plug it in. I do not believe our area has peak electricty rates, its always a flat $0.13 per KwH and then you add taxes and fees its $0.18.

I could offset it with a solar setup on my garage but I don't feel like its worth the investment since we have a townhome and the solar setup wouldn't fully offset our monthly use.

We do charge it to 100% whenever we go on longer drives and or utilize fast DC charging while going outside our normal range. It's just best practice to keep it between 20-80% for battery health since the Leaf doesn't utilize any active thermal management. Aaaaaand we just had the battery warrantied by nissan due to degradation issues. Got a free 40 KwH battery thanks to the warranty, old battery was 30 KwH so we got a nice bump in range for free.

    I had a 2006 Escape.
The cross-member rusted apart on me.
I was originally planning to make it through the winter, but the gods had other plans.
I knew my next ride was going to be a truck, but I was forced into the marketplace at a time not good for being a buyer...
Took me almost a month to find an Inferno Taco, and I almost lost it to a wholesaler.... go figure. But I found it, with very low-mileage.
I consider myself lucky. I don't think I find what I have now if the Escape lasted until spring.

I know there are others out there who can't get what they want (let alone at a price they are willing to pay), and are simply buying whatever they can get their hands on simply because they NEED a ride..
