So yeah I got pulled tonight. Quite funny actually. I had been hanging out with my buddies tonight and had to leave to take my girlfriend home. As I'm pulling out of his drive way a cop pulls out of another road behind me. Knowing he's there I drive the speed limit and do nothing wrong. Next thing I know the blue lights come on, and my girlfriend says possibly the stupidest thing, "Are we getting pulled over?"

Immediately I start laughing, I then say, "Looks like it".

Cop: How are you doing tonight?
    Me: Doing just fine.
Cop: The reason I pulled you over is because you were swerving back there and crossed the double yellow line several times. Have you had anything to drink tonight?
Me(in my head):  Wow. (actually said): No sir, I have no power steering.
Cop: Laughs, ok then. Can I see your license and registration?
    Me: Certainly.
Cop comes back: Alright well thank you Mr. Pope. Have a good night.

Sorry to have bored you with this but I thought it was hilarious.

Anyone else got some funny stories of being pulled over?

If you were swerving it usually doesn't go that smoothly... and the no power steering thing I couldn't imagine working, unless you seriously don't have any. Something just doesn't add up here

    That's pretty good

Just last night someone knocked at my door. Seeing as how there are some sketch characters around me, I keep my Glock on me, loaded and chambered. I threw on a jacket quick to conceal it as I answered. It was a cop; he asked me if I had been playing music loudly to which I honestly responded no... you have the wrong place. He felt he was right (but he wasn't) and when I told him another officer in his department could vouch for me, he's like "your friends with him"? To which I responded, "not friends, but I did buy my gun from him." The cop walked away, most likely to pursue another alcohol-related incident

i got pulled over once for dropping my buddy off on the sidewalk with a video camera, the other side of the street was a very large puddle, probably came up to just below my door. Well obviously i was going to have him film me and the other trucks in the area going through it. Just as i dropped my buddy off a cop rolls around the corner and shines his spot light on my buddy and they waved at each other.

I drove off, went the speed limit. Got to a light, turned left and after about 40ft he pulled me over. I turned off the car turned on the lights in my truck and put the keys on the dash. He walks up to my truck looking at my stickers, and off road bumper and AT tires on the way up.

He says "why you drop your buddy off back there?"
told him "i was going to have him film some trucks drive through the puddle while i find some place to park"
him "Why do you want to film them?"
me "I want to post it on a site called TW"
Him "sooooo you arnt going to drive through it?"
me "No way sir, that thing would flood my truck!"
he smirked "No way! i drove through it!"
me "Well sir.....Thats cause you drive a crown vic"
he started cracking up and was like "have a good night"

Sone "lady" cop pulled me over. It wasn't funny. Now I have to go to court during finals week in May.

The speed limit was 65, I was passing doing 75, then it turns into a 45 zone, right as I finished passing, and "she" was sitting about 100ft behind the 45 sign. Dam Bitch is all I have to say.

I say "she" because I think it was suposed to be a she but idk what it really is.

EDIT: Yes, this happened in the morning of today as I was on my way to go skiing.

^^^ you may not agree with the ticket but respect our law enforcement. They are doing their job, you hate them when you dont want them, and you expect them to be there when you need them.

can you try and change it? (never had to deal with that) Just again, may not agree with her, but she is putting her life on the line daily in hopes to make this world a better place. maybe she pulled a few wrong moves but maybe there is more behind it

Request a different court date - they should have no problem honoring that request.

In many states, you are given a cushion distance in which you are able to safely decrease your speed down to the newly posted limit. ~300-400ft after the sign is common.

idk if I can change it. I'll have to look into that.

When I said she did the same thing to a friend, I mean she scheduled it during finals for the friend. I'm sure the cop knows when our finals are, since the court date is 4 months away, and that is just fucked up. This is in a small as Podunk town off the US24 in Colorado. So there defiantly is not a 4month wait!

I thought so too, but there was no warning sign of reduced speed and the officer was about 100 feet passed the sign, so I sure she gives out a lot of tickets.

Ya, but this is Fairplay, CO we are talking about. There is practically nothing but like 3 buildings (1 being a gas station). And that cop and her friend cop.

Hopefully I can change the date.

Any tips for going to court?

Oh and another story: Got a ticket for "failure to dim headlights". I had my lows on and the cop thought I had my brights on. I guess our head lights are deceiving.

    ill play

i have others but this is the best

so i get pulled over in april 06, im driving my 96 acura integra ... illegal on the following counts (non carb legal intake, loud exhaust, too low, tinted front windows, no front plate, etc)

im at the bar with some girls, one of which is one of those morons who no matter how hammered she is, will drive drunk

closing time comes around, and i tell her friend (who isnt quite AS drunk) that ill follow them so if the cops see us they will likely pull me over (drunk girl is in a stock 05 silverado)

we get almost to drunk girls house, and lights go on behind me

    pull it over

officer: how are you this evening sir, i pulled you over because of your front tinted windows, lisence and registration
me: im good, hands over reg
    officer: you been drinking tonight:
me: i had one (the truth)
officer: step out the vehicle please

so the sobriety test happens, its hella cold, at one point i ask if i can have my jacket out the car which she has her partner go get

during said sobriety test she asks why i was driving with my drivers side window down

i says well its tinted and i know its illegal and i seen you guys so i figured id roll it down and that didnt work

she says youre so honest most people say they were hot
i says that wouldnt have worked since i had yall get my jacket
    she laughs

anyhow the rest of the test goes good, i end up blowing 0.00 and she gives me a warning on the tint

fast forward 4 months ... i get jury duty

run into her, say hey how you doing
she says do i know you
i say yea you pulled me over southbound 29 near salvador ave
she says yea i shoulda pulled over your drunk ass friends
i say yea i was the decoy, but that aside, you wanna grab lunch sometime?
she says you ever fix your tinted windows?
    i say no
she says "youre still so honest"
i says well thats a good quality of mine
    she says no

well that was the end of that

    /| ........funny story.

Here in San Diego, witch is a farly large city. The COPS will sit out side the bars and night cloubs and watch people walk to there cars and pull out of the p-lot. Then pull them over. It's liken shooting fish in a barrel.

When running a DUI check point there will be sign posted like a half mile ahead of the check point and another sign at about 1/4th af a mile and then the check point.

We have a detail to handle the cars at the check point. But also have a squad to chase all the cars that turn around in line or change seats while waiting to be checked.

    One big happy family!!!!!!!!

not about being pulled over but had a funny run in back in high school, long story

when ufc was becoming popular and being young and stupid me and a bunch of friends thought itd be fun to have our own "fight night" so we discovered a neighborhood being built by our school and friday night after one of my school soccer game we all met up (about 6 cars packed full of HS kids) and we drove to this neighborhood, went to the very last coldisack and aimed our headlights down a hill to a straw covered clearing, got the 2 "fighters" hyped up made a huge circle and they go at it, about 15 minutes after being there a friend of mine started getting scared (hes always paranoid about getting in trouble) and said he was leaving, i said okay and watched him walk up the hill and disappear, but at about the same time caught a glimpse of another person coming down the hill but all i could see was is shadow and the outline of a gun on his thigh, i turned to another friend an said "shit alan the cops are here!" bout that time you here "everyone put your hands where i can see them!!" and i look around the circle and see everything following the order as well as a red laser dot going from one person to the next (cop had his taser out), he told everyone not to move and the 2 fighting to sit down, and he cuffed them. as we are standing there my best friend whispers to me that he was going to run just to see how fast they could catch him (hes a crazy m'fer) right after he said that we hear the k9 barking and he looked at me and said "okay fuck that nevermind!" the cop then proceeded to mock the 2 that were fucking asking "where the fuck is chuck liedel at?" and laughing, asked if they needed an ambulance, both said no sir and he looked at one of them who has a little bloody nose and said "damn son you got fucked up haha are you sure your okay?!" collected all about 20 IDs from us all took them up the hill and started calling us up 3 at a time, turned out there was a RACK of cops like 5 or so cars (not surprising since there was alot of us) then gave us all warnings for trespasing and contributing to somthing (i cant remember the word they used) gave us our IDs back and waited for us all to leave. only one that got in trouble was one of the guys fighting (he was under 18 and also the heavyweight of our wrestling team) and they drove him home.
