I have to admit, I have a hard time agreeing with this.

All last year we had to listen to before every race with “we race as one”, “end racism”, blah, blah, Hamilton and his BLM, yada, yada.

So now, a guy that had to work his ass off to get where he is on the biggest stage, driving for an American sponsored team along side of the son of the greatest driver in the history of the sport, and getting excluded for what? Oh, his nationality. He didn’t bomb Ukraine, He was born in Russia, is that his crime? Seems pretty hypocritical to me.

Are we talking about the kid who's Russian oligarch father bought his seat by sponsoring the team with his corrupt Russian business? And was a shit driver who couldn't even complete a race for the first 1/4 of the season anyway. o_O

Edit: I forgot the one where he said he was a shit driver was just a meme.

If he'd actually gotten there on his own talents and not due to his father's money I would have an issue with it.

There are better Russian drivers in the lower formulas. I feel bad for them.

How is Haas without the sponsorship? Will they have to pick-up another to fully compete this year.

Yeah I think it is tbh. It's HAAS trying to get away from any bad press and what not. Mainly just because how close Maszespin Sr is to Putin

Well most of the money was probably used to develop the car so it will hurt but not as bad if this happened a few months ago :notsure:

I believe Uralkali provides 20% of the sponsorship money.

Gene & Gunther have been in this position before, I imagine Gene could get some more sponsors or put the money in himself…

I say it again… poor Gunther.

It just amazes me how haas still has a F1 team. They arent competitive at all and nobody even really likes them. At least the other F1 teams when they were having bad years they weren’t last every race and had a big sponsorship behind them.

So… with Mazespin likely not to be racing who do you think will take his seat?

    1. The Hulk - I’d love for the Hulk to come back but too many strings and too much money involved.

    2. Giovinazzi - a Ferrari driver that would also cost a lot of money and IMO don’t think he deserves another drive.

    3. Fittipaldi - it could be his time, already there and cheap.

Last year doesn’t really count, they were always going to be last.

Gunther has had problems with sponsors, drivers and the car. He really should have changed up the drivers a long time ago.

I really hope their car is better this year and they can pull themselves up to at least try to compete in a battle or two.

I don’t think they are disliked… just really not considered all that much.

He is a pay driver and the money he brings to the team comes from a corrupt Russian oligarch with extremely close ties to Vladimir Putin. If he went out and got his sponsorship money from somewhere else, lets say Burger King, then I would agree. Get him back in the car. But we all know nobody else on planet earth would sponsor him so its a moot point.
