Was browsing some for sale ads and noticed these clear tail lights on a truck listed at Carmax

Anyone know what these are and where to source?

Yeah, I bought a set from TacomaBeast, and they were good looking tali lights, but in the box came a sheet that said condensation in the tail lights was normal.

At that point, I put them back in the box, and shipped them back to TacomaBeast, who to their credit, took them back without charging me the re-stock fee. They were surprised when I told them about the condensation sheet included in the box.

I was just looking at a set of those on ebay. They look good, but not a fan of where the brake and signal lights are. Don't seem nearly bright enough to compete with the running light.

I’ve seen people cut open the original all red tail lights and replace the lens with the 2020+ clear lens. I guess I’ll have to source some and try to make my own

@MESO is the local expert when it comes to cutting open taillights. Be forewarned, it's a difficult surgical proceedure.

Also, just so you're aware, the internal components of the all red taillights are clear. So if you add a clear lens to the OEM all red taillights, they will be all clear. You'd need colored bulbs for the brake lights.

That’s exactly what I want. Does Meso offer this as a service?

Thats the magic of drop shipping. They have no idea what they're selling.

No, sir. He used to modify OEM taillights in small batches and getting a set was like winning the lottery. However, he no longer does that and now offers his own version of the Tacoma taillights. However, these don't exactly fit what you're looking for.

Not exactly. Lol. And at 650$ I wouldn’t even consider it.

That's fair. However, hopefully that shows you the quality difference between the TacomaBeast product and a legit OEM-like product.

The good news... The pre-order for those taillights are about to drop (they should start shipping in the next couple weeks), so there will be a TON of OEM taillights available soon. You should be able to pick up a set fairly cheap in the near future.
