I think you can torque them higher without worrying about pulling the studs out. There's only a few thread of engagement on those. I think I also read of studs breaking/pulling out under high-torque (big tires/craw box).

Don't think it's of huge importance, but if you're already there, I wouldn't swap the stock studs back in.

What’s the best exhaust for the 5vz. My buddy has a magnaflow and it sounds pretty good. A nicer deeper sound would be cool.

Thanks for all this. Some questions/observations:

Diamonds come with uninstalled inner 3rd member seals (one of many benefits) it'll keep fluid in the center section and out of the tubes, should of came in a small bag with misc hardware.
[turbodb]: I didn't get any seals in the hardware package. Just the studs, u-bolts (and plates), and leaf perches. I also don't really see where inner seals would mount in the housing, but if you're saying I should have them (?), I'll reach out to FROR.

Might as well grab a union fitting and new breather if you dont have the diff breather extension mod already.
[turbodb]: Rear diff breather is relocated, and I'll definitely be moving that over.

Mentioned already, recommend diff stud eliminator. Use min 10.9grade, as you want to benefit from the clamping force of the 3rd member to that flush 1/2" mounting flange on the diamond. This will prevent 3rd member flex/pull under extreme load. Also grab 1 or 2 heavy duty small magnets to add. One at the bottom of the diff and jb weld one on the fill plug.
[turbodb]: I'd love to see a write-up on this somewhere so I can better understand. Certainly something I want to do. Fill plug has a magnet already, but it's a good idea to add another one to the bottom.

You'll need spring perches, axle housing is 3.5 O.D. which puts you in the same category perches as 14bolts. Check out ruffstuff or similar and get a set of longer than factory lenth perches to combat axle wrap and multi drilled center pin holes for alignment. Also with that, get proper U bolts and corresponding u bolt plates. Shock mounts too…
[turbodb]: Yep, already have my shock mounts from ruff stuff and using their leaf perches on my (patched) OEM housing. I actually like their longer perches than what came with Diamond, so may pick up more...

Pinion should point to the end of the 1st section of your rear driveshaft. Pinion angle/Driveshaft slope should be compensated 1-3* degrees higher than pinion angle to compensate for pinion upwards rotation and keeps u joints with constant pressure instead of spinning inside the cups. Temporarily tighten u bolts and plates to unwelded spring perch mounts on the axle and set vehicle weight on the suspension/axle. Then you’ll rotate pinion up until pinion is pointed at rear 1st section of rear driveshaft (c.b. Hanger). You’ll then need an angle finder an compensate an additional 1-3*. This will get your pinion angle/ driveshaft slope at ride height. Tack weld your perches at this point. Unbolt, then fully weld

[turbodb]: thanks, this is great info!

    Write up:

Remove diff studs. Replace with bolt. Install from the inside of the housing with loctite. :D

Remember those grills that someone one on here was looking at? I wanna say it was called habbibi grills or some shit. They we're from the middle east I believe. I know they were like the 3rd gens with raptor lights. My buddy is looking into one but I can't remember the website name.

Sounds like as good a time as any to say that the Taco Vinyl grill that I ordered in November still hasn’t arrived. After 5 months they’ve finally put out some proactive emails to all the people missing grills. They have reason to believe they’re in California and if people decide to cancel their order and buy from another vendor it’ll be a bad idea because those vendors probably buy from them and you’d be waiting anyway. Debating if I even want the damn thing at this point.

How loud do you want it? The neighbors hear you coming loud? Or just loud enough so you can hear it in the cab?

Seriously, there is only so much you can do with the 3.4L sound wise.

FWIW, I am running an 18" magnaflow with an vibrant resonator and a single CAT and a full tailpipe. Initially it was a bit too quiet, but as I add miles, it is getting louder. But not so loud so my neighbors hear me coming down the block. In the cab the tone is very deep.

Some of my wheeling friends can answer better what is sounds like from the outside, on the trail. My guess is they will each have a differing opinion. @Speedytech7 @m3bassman @Blackdawg @turbodb

Yup, mine would throw that code every time I took it on the beach. The cat was bad. Got a new one installed and it runs so much better and without the CEL.

I heard @Speedytech7 loves the 3.4 exhaust note in general, but especially with aftermarket mufflers :D

Anyone every told you that you're a shit disturber? Haha. Yeah it's no secret I think the 3.4 sounds like the agonizing drone of a dying bovine. Silent is how I prefer it, I have Thrush Turbo muffler on mine and it makes it really bassy but I can't hear anything else.
