I just don't see the point.

I do a agree that these classics are beautiful.

What is the point of having 10-20 cars? You can only drive 1 at a time and it has to be perfect weather conditions.

I know I don't want or have the facilities to care for these machines.

In addition, the fit and finish of these cars when they came off the assembly line was just shit! Our present Toyotas blow away the up close looks of these classics.

I'm glad others want to spend the money to care and maintain them, but I won't be one.

<----Certifiable automobile junkie. Sometimes I'll be driving and realize, wow my neck hurts, wonder why? It's cause I've been rubberneckin cars going past to see if that 4th gen Camaro happens to be a center exhaust 45th anniversary edition. I need em all. Shiny, rusty, fast, slow, high, low I need em all. If I had the money, I'd have the space to have 15 of them and the signs with them.

I'm headed to see Big Daddy Don Garlits with my old man in a few weeks for my birthday. Thanks for the reminder IPNPULZ...

    Amen brother! :fistbump:
If I had the resources I would have 100 vehicles. (Mostly rusty probably...)

Driving is about the only thing that I do strictly for my own enjoyment.

I like to drive most anything with wheels -- you never know just what there is to see on a 100 mile adventure to the grocery store -- maybe a long closed garage door will be open, perhaps a spiteful ex-wife hosting a yard sale or maybe just a pretty girl sighting. :)

    Now that's a good topic!

I bought a boat for $150 in a devorce sale. The only thing is I had to take it now! 2 flat tires on the boat trailer. Crawled to the nearest gas station. Aired up and drove home.

I missed a sale like that...so story was, guy was going out of town on "business" trip...wife finds out its husband cheating on her with his secretary or whatever. He was avid hunter. Fisherman. A buddy bought a boat and trailer for super cheap. As hes talking to lady theres 2 or 3 safes being loaded on trucks...full! Sold for mere $300 each!...they prob had $10-15K valueables maybe more in them...one had nothing but over and under shotguns in it.
Plus tons of fishing rods and gear sold

I kind of felt bad, but I knew the boat and trailer were listed for a month.

She wanted a grand for the thing. I told her that was too much. Thank you for your time, no thanks.

That's when she said "take it now you can have it for $150".

    And away we went!

I need to look around in my pics as I might have a better shot of those 2 cars but if I remember right that AMC had a 392 HEMI pushing around 1100 HP

One could say the same for any type of collection the difference is the space and expense of taking care of the collection.

Well that explains the company it keeps.

From the factory the largest available engine was the 258 inline six cylinder rated about 150 hp, perhaps a bit less due to the primitive emission controls of the day. Low end torque was the standout feature of the 258.

Keep eating like that and the sign will be on an ambulance in front of your house.

If I won the lottery I would build a bigger garage -- about the size of a Sam's Club would probably carry me to the end... :D
