Hah, that's one of the reasons I had to trade in my second gen. It was getting crispy real fast!

Why didn’t you take it in for the new frame

 

2021 bought December 2020. It did see a hard winter before I was able to coat it. Took me forever to clean the frame. Took probably an hour just to get the spare tire clean! Reminds me I need to drop it again and clean it...

 

I got the new frame in 2018

 

Ya. It's really only bad right on the passenger side. It's like that for 15" but good the rest of the way and drivers side doesnt have it. Toyota said that wasnt perforation. I do have some separating layers on both sides though.

 

I can relate. My face was never 100%. My goal is just to minimize the pain for others.

 

Somebody in here need an ass whoppin'? I'm in that kinda mood.

I did. 4 times to be exact at 2 or 3 different dealerships. I got the run around. Dealers told me I had to speak to regional or corporate then corporate told me it was up to the dealerships and then around again. I went into the service bay under the truck on the last one and spoke to the service manager about my trucks bad spots and he was "going to send pics of this in to see if I qualify." Never heard back about that. Kind of still pissed.

 

Your time is up . 12 years from date it drove off the lot . I had the same thing going on . I beat the shit out of it with a hammer and the second dealer I took it to found a hole just big enough on driver side beneath the door .

That sucks . Dealership that did mine has done several hundred frame swaps . They get paid for it from corporate. Couple guys in the shop that’s all they did .
