I found a bunch of radios on Amazon. It looks like they sell lots of "spare parts". Not sure which one it is.

It would be a lot more work and investment that it’s worth to retrofit a conventional Tx/Rx, ESC, and servo. Here’s links for as cheap an option I could find that I would use. You’d need to open it and see what sort of servo could be fitted as well. Since you have the car in hand see if you can’t search a replacement Tx.

I stumbled across some Maisto VW vans years ago for cheap. I retrofit one to run LiPo batteries and conventional gear but the motor didn’t last long with the extra voltage. It was fun for a little while.

Ended up buying another from eBay for cheap. It worked but wouldn’t steer. Fixed that problem, steering pin was broke so I made another pin. We now have 2 working cars and I’ve got less than $25 in them. I also contacted the manufacturer and after several emails back and forth, they are sending me a battery, charger, and a second hand car with remote.

We found this for $8 yesterday, needs a remote so I’m back in the same situation.

I know there isn't a lot of love for the TRX and traxxas in general but this is the 3rd for our family and having matching platforms has been nice for swapping parts as needed but today my son mobbed his killerbody LC into a boulder and broke his metal arb bumper and the bumper from the builder kit doesn't fit it very well.

The RC cars are great. Then my uncle got me into planes…ended up buying about 10 of them in all sorts of sizes. Destroyed a few, glued a few others back together multiple times. I got real good with a glue gun. Spent a lot of money. But it was worth it

Okay, bringing this RC10 back to life after a few decades in a box at my parents’ house. (Don’t laugh too much at my fifth-grade attempt at ombré!)

Nice! I restored a few gold pan RC10s over the years, or rather, resto-modded. I have three left. Two are shelf queens and one is a runner (actually raced it on turf a few times). One of the shelf queens is an RC10T. The others started off as $25 and $40 finds on ebay. :D

Here's the shelf queen RC10. I de-anodized the aluminum bits and polished them.

That's a nice polishing job! Looks great with the stealthy contrast of the wheels and innards.

I have a thing for retro buggies...

unfortunately growing up I only ever remembered RadioShack cars. I never got a Golden Arrow as they were beyond my budget, but I found one on ebay some years ago and sorted it out to work for the most part with unreliable oldschool crystal radios and such... Im still worried it will take off out of control....

I thought about putting new electronics in it but decided to leave it as it was.

Reviving/restarting this hobby. Originally had a 1/24 Losi Trail Trekker, but the gear in the tranny broke and no replacement part was found. Then I ordered an Axial SCX24 and found out the Axial SCX24 tranny worked in my Losi. Now I have two working 1/24 rigs.

Then I dug through my storage and found my childhood Tyco Heads Up Turbo Hopper! Man, this thing is like 33 years old. Going to try to revive it.
