I think the Leander store manager is actually Sid Bergeron. At least he was about 5 hours ago, when he was driving my Tundy, and re-balancing my tires. I've been there so many times in the past couple of months, they holler "Norm" when I walk in, and my name isn't Norm.

I first went in for a new set of Coopers. They put them on, but the balance was crap, and they put a ton of weights on the rims, in an effort to balance them. I took them back to be re-balanced, and they scratched every one of my 4 Fuel rims, because the guy that balanced them didn't use the right spacer. And the tires were still out of balance, with a crap ton of weights. They bought me new rims, and agreed to swap the Coopers for some AintYoMamas. The new rims and tires came in, except one of them was scratched in shipping. They put the 4 on and reordered a wheel. It came in a day later, they put it on, I drove off, and the wheels still weren't balanced. I took it back, they balanced them again, and I still had wheel shake. I reached out to Sid, and told him I was willing to let them try and re-balance them one last time, and if that didn't work, I was going to have to try someone else. Sid asked me to bring it in, and if he couldn't get it, he would pay another shop. I brought it in earlier today, and Sid did the re-balance himself, after driving the truck to see what I was seeing. The issue with all of the re-balances before seemed to be where the weights were placed; with the Fuels I had/have on, one can't simply hang a weight on the edge of the rim, and think that is going to work. A couple of the wheels needed weights on both the edge, and then next to that, but further into the wheel. Sid knew that, and took care of it

Now, keep in mind that I am very satisfied with Sid and DT; a lot of places these days would have thrown their hands in the air and said they couldn't fix it. My dissatisfaction comes from having to go back so many times, to find someone who could actually balance the tires.

Check 'em out, but if you run into any issues, hit up Sid Bergeron, and tell them Jeff Daniel sent you.

Sid is good, as is the assistant manager there, a guy named Nick. They have a guy to be avoided, named Ferren, who told me on one of my many visits, that he was "second in charge". I told him I would wait until Nick got off the phone, and didn't tell him the reason I bought the Coopers in Leander is because Ferren was such an a**clown at the Cedar Park store when I went in there. He tried to sell me a different size of tire, (one that they had in stock), instead of the size I wanted, (which wasn't in stock). The dude told me the size I wanted wouldn't fit on my Tundra, despite the fact it was the same size as the tires I was replacing. I don't think look like a little old lady with no knowledge of cars, but to Ferren, I guess I did.

Looking up James Filla, (no h at the end), and he's associated with DT, but mainly the P'ville and Cedar Park stores. The last Yelp review that mentioned his name for the Leander store was from April of 2020.

I'm thinking about rolling the '55 down there with a For Sale sign and a QR code on it, leading to the deets. But prolly won't...

It's been a year and two months since I cut myself off FB. Good riddance. I realize I'm missing out on news and events from various clubs and other organizations. Everything else was just noise that I don't need in my life.
