I need a really good tune up on my Mule...The engine is all factory stock and it's way past time to get this done....
Is it worth it to find myself a shop that specializes in Tacos ? ( Since it's not a modified beast like most of you guys like )
And if I do, is there a way for them to modify my engine for fuel efficiency and maybe a few extra horsepower ? I don't really know if buying something like a pedal commander is worth the bucks since I'm stock...What say ye ?

I have the Pedal Commander, this does not give you any more horsepower nor does it make your vehicle go faster or save gas.
Basically that is a throttle response unit
Basically how touchy your gas pedal is when you push it down, you could set it at very high and It will snap your neck back when you step on the gas. Not often driving friendly. But use it for sport mode when you step on the gas you have immediate response instead of that small delayLol

A tuneup is a good oil change and spark plugs that’s about it check all your other fluids check on the knees check your brakes etc. etc. but as for a tuneup it’s basically straightforward we have coil packs which really don’t die and all we have a money there is plugs and I recommend OEM. Denzo

Some people like can and L air filters such as I and a lot of people don’t care for them so it’s either six of wine or half dozen of the other with that I believe it gives you a little bit per gallon in the long run

If your truck is overdue for a maintenance overhaul, you'll probably see some increased mpg's from that. Otherwise, there isn't a very easy solution to gaining mpg's, or hp for that matter. Most of us just dump money at mods for these trucks b/c we have nothing better to do lol

No. There is nothing special about the Tacoma, it’s relatively easy to work on.

What do you mean by efficiency?
    MPG?

My opinion is No. It’s not worth it.
It’s NOT a true tune. A real tune will give you more net gain.

OEM plugs, washable air filter, maybe clean intake and MAF. Mostly labor, maybe $100 for parts.
You should be changing the oil anyway.

I do change my oil , plugs , and have cleaned the stuff at the intake..I use K & N also...I did install some hotter plugs but I think the Denzos are still better....And it's good to know that I don't need the Commander...The delay at the throttle is just a Toyota thing...It drives me crazy but it is what it is I guess...As for the mpgs , I realize with this V6 it's gonna burn fuel when I am on the gas ..which I do.....Thanks for all the knowledge..

I would probably go for aftermarket Denso iridium plug over OEM. I have gotten better milage with the iridium over the OEM copper.

There are specific heat ranges associated with spark plugs & the iridium plugs may not match the performance of the Denso coppers. Personally I'd just stick with the Denso or NGK coppers since they are recommended in the Toyota in the owners manual for the 1GR-FE. Seems like folks have had hit or miss experiences with iridium plugs in the V6 motor.

Like said above, there's not much you can do to "tune up". Plugs, filters. All easily done by one's self if you have the means to do so.

Is that K+N filter oiled? Sometimes the oil will get on the MAF sensor wire and cause mpg issues

Almost all washable filters are oiled and they don't filter particles that well than the cheaper chinese filters.

All stock...I just slap a K&N in the box when I change the oil..I am steering clear of the cost of a cold air intake system...I had one on my Honda CRX years ago and they help some...I gained some HP by altering some stuff before the muffler...Gained some punch during acceleration...I think I may have installed a set of iridium plugs last time tho...I shoulda stuck with the Denzos..I always used NGKs on my Kawasaki 900 back in the day...I always loved them...I might try those instead also...Thanks y'all

Denso actually seems to be the better choice in the 4.0.

NGK is an excellent plug. And probably the best for 2 stroke engines. All my 2 strokes get NGK.

2007 model = check all of the ends of your vacuum hoses for splits, which can cause vacuum leaks.

Sometimes, throwing new injectors in, since yours has so much age, can cause a bump in mpg. Due to better atomization. This was found and details by some Aussie friends of mine.
