The environment has something to do with it as well; As stated above, people get crazier and less rational the closer you get to Philly...

The guy's driving a $70,000+ Porsche Macan, and carjackings in Philly and the surrounding area have been steadily rising; As someone who is incredibly protective of his 12-year old, nearly-150K-mile Tacoma, I sympathize with him. However, I kinda draw the line at telling perfect strangers "they're gonna get killed" unless I actually feel my life is in danger...

Actually, I draw the line way before a thinly vailed death threat come into play!

More like having a bad life! Geez! That guy prob ruins like 10 peoples days a week. I’m not down with that. Such bad juju. He is in an endless circle of being bad to people and getting the same energy from others in return.

I saw a vid on Kensington ave in Philly. It’s the saddest thing I have ever seen,

This wasn't your fault: sounds like the guy was just an macho ahole. Your folks are spot on re the necessity of having more situational awareness. Think I previously mentioned that you want to keep your wits about you, particularly in sketchy areas. There are a lot of unstable MFs out there even discounting all the addicts & rummies. When you're in photojournalist mode you could easily be caught unaware from behind. Being very hyper myself, I understand when you're in that rush mode and intensely focused on performing the task at hand. I often have to force myself to slow down a bit & survey my surroundings. As they say in the sweet science, "protect yourself at all times".

His life can't be that bad if he can afford a Porsche (or has the credit to take out a loan to buy a Porsche)...

why did I think these came with the 5.0? don't know anybody that had one but I do remember a guy who lived up the street from me driving by now and then and it definitely sounded better than a 4 banger. unless he did some work on it.

I had a 79 trunk in high school, 4 banger..haha, red, bottom half of it was black and black stripes on the hood. It also had the plastic double blade wipers every kid thought was cool back then. Only had it 6 months or so but it was okay

Nice! Always funny to look back on old cars.

Oh shit! I forgot about those wipers!! They were like 2”x2” thick w blades all on them! I remember people having like red ones on white cars and crazy combos like that!

You guys remember these? We had them in Florida.

Yup that was them. I needed something fairly fuel efficient and it just happened to be that, I would have settled for an econocar even. 20 miles each way to school meant money was a thing.

when I was 16 and first started driving it was .99 cents a gallon and my Saturn took like $10 to fill up. Miss those prices!

Same same, 1991 wasn't terrible for prices but the mid 90s were the best. It helped that in the mid 90s I was a starving college student.

yep! I started driving in 98. It was 99, 1.09, and 1.19 for 93 octane. They got us by the balls! Crack us out on these gas vehicles that we can’t resist then make us spend every dime we have to drive them.
