Holy cow you all are helpful!
Msging the guy in Portsmouth about the cap.
Great deal, haven’t found one less than double that price.
Thanks a lot for the heads up.

Just a heads up the fit may be a bit wonky. Reg cabs have a more vertical cab I guess so the access cab/double cab longbed toppers have a bit of a lip pointing forward.

Seems like it may fit per this thread- https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/access-cab-camper-shell-will-fit-regular-cab.192178/

For the price, might work fine as a temporary cap till you find one you truly want.

    Just an FYI.

thank you for the heads up!
That’s something that I’ve been running into while on my search for a cap.
Going to try weatherstripping to prevent any rubbing.
Has anyone ever swapped out the light on the cab? Maybe a flat one would eliminate that?

Looking at his FB posts, I get the impression he didnt build this. Curious how he came across it. Looks like it would be a blast to offroad in.

2011 probably with a junk frame that Toyota didn't replace, might as well rip into it and make it fun.

    Cheap Cap Alert! Littleton MA

    Probably won’t last long

6ft white utility cap- no windows - $100

Im seriously tempted to grab it myself but I’m really looking for something taller and with a front and rear window. 6496B650-5D12-4C2D-8D7D-0FD7E45FF336.jpg

Ok CL Masters. Find me a DD: Stickshift, AWD, non-truck, 4 cylinder Toyota. $10k or less is the budget.

Picked up the cap in Portsmouth today.
Not too bad looking. Close match on color and fits like an AC but dang I like it.
3rd brake light not wired yet and gonna throw some roof racks for a canoe.

    Looks good!

Make sure you add a inline fuse when wiring the 3rd brake light. I skipped it the first time I wired mine and it blew the main fuse which caused the rear brake lights to go out and shift lock the truck….

The second time I ended up picking up a universal trailing wiring harness and cutting it up to use the “pigtails” for a splice free wiring set up. Costs a couple bucks more but worked well.

I was looking for a harness today and could find one to fit the four prong that’s attached to the cap. Wonder if there is a certain kind I should be looking for. Any suggestions?
