Thanks RTweet! I cant keep up with all this stuff and come in with stupid questions I guess. Im the typical NEWB and have now clue.

I read these forums and have been following this thread forever(bookmarked).

To answer my own question I think the Westcott lift is really a spacer lift and is frowned upon by most. The Eibach is a spring that lifts your front end. Yea?!

I would like to roll 285 tires, but dont want to re-gear, cut replaced arms etc. That's why I asked if the Eibachs would allow me to have the 285's without the additional mods.

My plan as of now is my stock tires on my 2020 PRO are about worn out. I had planned to install 265/75/16 Wildpeaks, but thought maybe with the added lift from the Eibachs I could get some Wildpeak 285's.

I think it’ll depend on what you use the truck for. Full disclosure, I run 265s, but have friends with 33s.

If you’re mostly driving on pavement, you might rub a little with 285s at full steering lock while turning, something you can usually either ignore or fix by cutting a little plastic.

Guys who wheel more encounter more issues with rubbing when at full stuff in the front. That’s why no one can give you a 100% guarantee; everyone defines tire “fit” at little differently.

I did a poll a while back, but it was related to running 285's on a stock TRD Pro. About half had to do a CMC, another quarter just had to do some trimming or heat gun work on the liners, and another quarter didn't have to do anything at all. I'm a little skeptical about that last group just being OK with a little rub at times.

Not really a scientific way of going about it and was related to a stock TRD Pro, but may show there are slight variations in our trucks. Some added height may help, but it is usually a horizontal rather than vertical issue with the rubbing at full lock. The fix there seems to always be UCA's to push the wheel forward a bit.

Personally, if I was dead-set on doing 285's, I'd plan on UCA's first, then doing a CMC if needed.

Thanks for the tip! I'm not dead-set on 285's but I wouldn't want to lift my truck using 265/75 and up regretting it.

I agree with our trucks having slight variations. It seems based on comments from various forums that not everyone has the same experience when it comes to lifting or wheel/tire fitment. Just got to take things with a grain of salt.

Hey, I was both complementing you and busting balls. I get it. I'm a psychologist who has no business even pretending like I know what I'm talking about re. autos. Lots of blowhards on here, so I just absorb what seems commonly agreed upon. Fortunately for you, there are a lot of knowledgeable people on this thread.

I made the mistake of getting the 265/75/16 Wildpeaks the day after I purchased the truck because I hated the OEMs and didn't think I'd life it. Welp. Now I'm less concerned about rubbing and all that, and more concerned about fuel economy when gas jumps to $6 a gallon. Not an invite to discuss politics.

I swapped to E-rated BFG KO2's in 265/75/16 and can't say I notice any difference in gas mileage.

I keep my eye on this thread, but honestly I've been able to go wherever I want with just the tire upgrade. The main thing I'd be looking for in a small lift would be a better departure angle, but I could improve that with just a rear bumper swap. I'll consider the springs and 1" block when it's time to rebuild/replace the shocks, though.

Eibach springs and block. A little stiffer up front, nothing crazy. Certainly noticeable height difference. I’ve only managed to rub once so far with these 285/75r16 ko2s. Will be ditching the blocks and putting deavers on in the fall.

$655 install at 4 wheel parts and they managed to give me a better than prior alignment with the stock UCAs.

I would strongly recommend this kit so far.

Passenger fender, I assume where the mudflap is from the prior wear.

I was cruising into my driveway backwards at almost full lock.

Used to rub every time, not the case now. Even took it mobbing through the woods today.

Wild enough, I fueled up the day of install and I’m sitting better.

(certainly no relation to the lift though)

Just found some ethanol free go-juice.

I purchased the 2020+ springs, but haven't installed them yet. I think I also want to install a 1/4" top spacer on both sides.

The Eibach kit doesn't modify the wheel travel in front. The topping out point and bottoming out points are still the same. The taller Eibach spring only changes the resting height = more lift. Eibach spring has the same spring rate as the stock spring (620 ibs/in), so the ride will "feel stock". This kit doesn't fully allow 285/76r16 to fit without rubbing at full compression, because the wheel still has the same movement as the stock setup. 285/75r16 will rub once in awhile if you stay on pavement, but will rub when off-roading (even with 0 offset wheels and no mud flaps).

The reason the Westcott kit has a 1/4" top spacer is because that is the component that changes wheel travel and allows 285/75r16 to fit without rubbing. At full compression the wheel will be lower in the wheel well, preventing rubbing on the cab mount.

The Eibach spring and the Westcott pre-load collar achieve the same thing (lift without changing wheel travel). I prefer a coil over swap as opposed to modifying the lower spring perch (pre-load collar). Unsure of any other advantages?

Since the Westcott kits allows for the stock UCA to be used, the Eibach kit should be fine with stock UCA as well.

No problem with stock UCA so far. How would I know if there were problems? That being said, you seem very confident (I don’t know shit). Logically, I’d think longer springs would mean more distance for the tire to travel before rubbing. Also, why do you suppose so many people say they’re getting away without rubbing, even on fully stock 20+ pros? Do 21s have any lift over 21s?

just put the eibach springs on my 2017, with a 1/4 in top plate spacer both sides,, which brought the front up about 2 1/4 inches, added 2 in rear tapered block, truck has about 3/8 rake, factory UCA's and it aligned great,,,,, love it more, puts a smile on my face even after 5 1/2 yrs ive had it.. gonna throw some 285.s on it soon
