    Smokin' down the river! Reminds me of the afternoon I helped a harbor officer burning sorbents in a SmartAsh incinerator. He needed to burn a second load so we looked in the burn drum and the residue looked cool, so I grabbed a plastic garbage can from the shop, and we dumped the content of the burn drum into it. He got the next load started and while we shooting the breeze I noticed some flame above the plastic can's rim. Oops! We each grabbed a handle, trotted through the shop, out the front door and tipped the contents into the harbor dumpster across the street, took the can back to the shop and went back to our separate work. A few minutes later, the Harbormaster (boss) drives down the street, parks in front of the office, walks over to the dumpster and watched the VFD chief spray a fire extinguisher into the steel dumpster. In the USFS, we'd say that fire was "contained and controlled."

    I resemble that... When you can't move, you're bundled up enough. Then you waddle out the door, and have that "I gotta pee right now!" feeling, go back in, peel off everything and take care of that chore and start over. Prob'ly why I rarely forget Mom's rule: "Always go the bathroom before you go out to get in the car." From what I hear from younger grownups, we all had that same Mom rule.
