Because my dad was a radar troubleshooter, we moved around so many times as a kid, that it took me 10 schools to go from kindergarten through the 11th grade.

I sat at every kind of school desk that had been invented up through the 1970s. Some of them had inkwells and some of them were 1800’s cast-iron & solid American black walnut. You sat on the front of the desk of the kid behind you on a fold down seat. The seat was bentwood, which was steamed plywood formed in the shape of an S, which was supposed to be the shape of your ass?

It took me seven schools to get from the fifth grade to the 10th grade. Lots of moving around in the Vietnam era.

We never had a mini bike, but we did have a go kart made out of two by fours and a stolen lawn mower engine.

I still have a scar on my right elbow where the nail got me.

Yup. My local bike shop didn't always have the cool stuff I wanted so I would have to send in the form with a money order for my parts.

Weingarten's grocery or Randall’s, probably, in Houston.

I bought the KISS Double Platinum on 8 Track. That was my first 8 Track. It was a two tape set. I don’t recall what happened to the tapes or the player. It’s been a while. LOL

I don’t like to give to my age, because each time I do I feel it a little more.

this was before Randall's iirc... not Weingartens, pretty sure it was a Safeway.

the double platinum was my first 8 track as well. my dad was WTF about it cus it was his car stereo that was playing it. in the driveway alone mostly.

We did not have a dial telephone until I was in grade school, Nor a television until I was in first grade, but the TV got two channels, NBC and CBS, we didn't get ABC until several years later.

This is the exact one my grandma had. My mom still uses it. Things were built to last back then.

Not really. I just work with guys half my age, and they give me crap about it. But I get the final say, because I sign the checks.

I had one, that my mom gave me. It was very similar to that, but more of a harvest gold color. I used it for years, before it finally croaked. One day, we were having a feast at work. I made some chili in the crock pot. A deer ran out in front of my car. I slammed on the brakes and chili went all over the floorboard! LOL

The crockpot I have now, came with a couple of wire fasteners to keep the lid secured, during transport.
