Sorry this happened to you -- I do have to say that I believe you are the first person to write in about getting hit by a golf cart.
Hope it all works out good and keep us posted.

Nope fender bender, but how many times do you see a motor vehicle and golf cart involved in a crash.

It was actually a utility cart and it was maintenance employees who got struck on the job.

If the golf cart driver was drunk and if this occurred in a parking lot open to the public, then that would be an impaired driving charge in my state!

If the damage is to the bumper can you still call it a fender bender?

That's not how it works "in Canada." My province you don't report minor accidents to police at all.

Your province has a criteria as well to determine whether or not you call police or go to a Collision Reporting Centre.

This accident wouldn't involve police in most provinces.

Sorry it happened. I am guessing over 2k as had daughters car in for a scrap from a parking garage. $1720 no panel replacement.
I would have called the police, taken pictures, get something in writing and a witness. Now a days people aren’t as “honest”.
On the funny side. Maybe no more off-roading on the golf course and stay off the greens!

Same here in the US. Their report goes a long way, same as dash cam evidence. It might be an inconvenience to them and they might deter you, but Ive had to fight a claim before because people are dishonest as soon as they leave the scene. Don't think of it as a crime, it's an accident and they have a responsibly to respond and report. When they ask over the phone "is anyone hurt" you reply "I don't know I need someone with training to make that assessment".

It sucks. But it can save your ass. Granted, nothing you say will convince some people to involve them, but if you've ever been involved in an incident and not had police and/or medical involved only to have that opposing party lie to their insurance, then you'd understand. It's a battle.

A fender bender can still cause whiplash and you'd be surprised how many people are dishonest to claim as such. "Yes, I hit them going 15mph in a golf cart but they fled and my neck hurts". Your word vs. theirs and that's never a smart move. I'm just trying to get the point across... Sorry for the what ifs but it's the truth.

At least 2k. More if the body shop says they’ll need to blend into the cab.

    Oh look, another mod....
The OP never stated the guy driving the golf cart was drunk. Everyone needs to stop assuming and throwing in shit that may or may not be true.

The guy just asked for estimates on how much it would cost to fix his truck. All you arm-chair detectives need to calm down.
