Not enough bandwidth on the internet to list.

    Is that foil?

Damn, you could roast wieners in that thing when you're not hiding keys!

Whenever I am traveling or I leave my truck parked outside, I keep my key fob in a “fob guard”. Its a faraday cage that prevents the signal. They sell them directly on their website at fobguard.com or you can buy them on Amazon (just make sure you get a legit one from an authorized reseller). I have one for both my truck and my wife’s car — added peace of mind especially when the car is in the hotel parking lot.

I’m wondering why OP ignored the several suggestions of disabling the fob when he replied, since it’s exactly what he’s asking for, but legitimately confused by those of you suggesting/using faraday cages...
Three button presses to disable, one to re-enable. You guys just like making things complicated or what?

As others have mentioned or alluded to: pretty sure even if the key is sitting on a bedrail and not actually on the person trying to open the door they can't. Easy enough to test.

Yeah, assuming it is a truck tent, I figured you would just stow the fob in the part of the tent furthest from the cab and you would be fine.

A few, mainly added skids. I like leaving the suspension alone. I drive forest service dirt roafs in the desert west extremely extremely too fast. Toyota nailed this suspension going 65 across desert terrain. Changing it is dumb unless you have a specific need like crawling or mud.
Where are you guys camping? Time square? Seriously.....

Agreed on turning off the key fob. We do that nightly for my wife's Highlander. I've walked up to it to open a door and have forgotten that the fob is off. Trust me, it won't let you in unless you turn it back on.

In all my years of camping, i've never once had to worry about someone rolling up on my campsite and robbing me while i'm away from it. It has certainly never been an issue while i'm asleep in the tent either.

I have to be standing pretty close to the door for the FOB to lock/unlock it. Sometimes my 4 year old wants to lock the door by touching the sensor on the handle, and if I’m even just standing in front of the rear door witht he FOB in my pocket, it won’t work and I have to move closer. If you’re sleeping in the bed, especially with the FOB more on the tailgate side, it’ll be too far away for someone to get in the cab.

And like others said, where are you camping?? I never lock anything where I go camping, but then again I don’t do campgrounds, I do the woods.

If you're talking about the door automatically unlocking when you touch the handle, the fob has to be within 2 feet for that to work. So if the fob is in the bed with you and the truck cab is locked, nobody's getting in without breaking in.

What kind of dead-to-the-world sleepers are you guys? You can hear an armadillo fart from 30 yards in a tent at night.

If someone opens my truck I'll hear it. Not that it's ever been a problem. In 30 years of enthusiastically camping at all varieties of sites I have only had one thing stolen from me, and the criminal was a damn raccoon who thought my bag of charcoal smelled good.

I won't say that nobody never-ever messes with shit, but I've never seen it. And here's my confession- I leave my truck unlocked when camping. Because campground etiquette: it annoys me to hear cars constantly unlocking and locking at all hours when somebody three sites down goes looking for their wet wipes at 2 am. I won't be that guy.

Right on bud, I alway camp with the keys in the ignition. Or sitting on the hood, or wherever I left them after my 27th beer

I certainly understand your concerns. Years ago, we were tent camping, in a very nice state park. The park ranger caught a couple of teenagers, that were going around cars and campsites, looking for things to steal. I slept right through it. My girlfriend told me the next morning, she heard some movement, but thought it was raccoons or other animals. They stole a bottle of Dr. Pepper we had sitting out.

Apparently, the teen boys were camping with their family and snuck out. Their dad made them go around to every single campsite and apologize to the people they stole from and return everything they stole. Their dad was severely pissed at them and I strongly suspect the punishment he dealt out was far more severe, than the justice system could have dealt them.
