Sooo I hit a pole in a parking lot. Only my front drivers side wheel hit the pole and bent it so far in its touching the UCA and looks like the sway bar is bent.

Whats insurance gonna do? And what do I do with my mods? Sliders/skids/rack/bedshell?

tow man said his buddy had the exact same accident and insurance totaled his truck.

I don’t know what to think. Just glad My family and I are okay.
    Thank God and
    Thanks Taco world.

The tire was rubbing the UCA so hard it
Could barley turn and rubbed the sidewall while moving straight. I tried to drive it away…
I should have gotten better pictures. I will get some inner wheel well pics when I see her next.

Sounds like a new spindle/knuckle is needed.

Highly unlikely total loss. Unless you bent the frame where the control arms attach. A rare occurrence for a low speed collision.

As stated probably just need a spindle, maybe UCA and/or LCA.

Were you reversing or going forward when you hit the pole?

Was his truck a 1990 worth like 800 bucks? Details matter man. It’s not totaled

Highly unlikely it's totaled considering most insurance companies fix anything up to about 70 percent of the vehicles market value. I was a body shop estimator for a while and I couldn't believe some of the shitboxes we actually fixed. That's nothing on a truck that probably currently retails for 30 grand or more.

Pictures of the control arm rubbing will help tremendously.

Doubtful it's totaled, but you never know! But since this is a self inflicted wound, I would get a repair estimate first before filing a claim. It may not be that bad and you can just pay for the repair out of pocket. Save the insurance claims for the big stuff!

I don't think it is totaled. My Gen 2 was hit by another driver and my whole front driver side was crushed, so much so I could not drive it. The other driver who turned across two lanes had to pay. They replaced the A arms, wheel, body work, headlight and paint. After the body shop (Toyota) fixed it, you could not even tell it was ever hit.

    spectator opinions dont count

for a low speed parking lot incident

the overall expense will be higher than U think

i dont think totaled unless frame is bent
