Roof rails? Do you mean the roof rack? For a minute, I considered that but some people on hear mentioned the wind noise and drop in MPG. I also considered steps/rails but I love the height and thought the steps detract from the clearance.

Any thoughts on a potential next mod? Outside of LED headlight upgrade.

Barcelona Red is a real nice color! Did you have any issues selling your stock rims/tires? I’m getting a TRD sport at the end of the month and am considering bronze TRD pro rims.

Hi Frank, I remember talking to you when you were uneasy about the red color, congrats on the build, she's a beauty, great job and good luck with her, cheers!

Yep, meant the roof rack. Some wind noise is all I have noticed, expectedwhen you bolt thing ontothe roof. Been getting 18/19 mpg for the last 3 weeks(first week was around 16mpg). I don't drive hard. 50 mile trip to and from work, mostly highway. Unfortunately I live in a kind of valley, so it's up and down hills the entire way.

If you like the rack, go for it. I doubt you will see any noticeable decrease in economy. It doesn't weigh very much, and isn't as tall as it looks to be.

As far as steps, I took the shin smashers(Predator) off. I'd like to get a set of Victory slider steps. They tuck in nicely and don't hang down like regular steps do.

As far modding... drive it. Change things you find that you don't like or could be better. The LED lights are really nice, glad I opted for them.

<EDIT> Just noticed you are from Tucson. I love that place. Ideally I'd like to eventually move there. I forget where I stayed... but those few weeks are probably some of my favorite.

Hey Leon! I didn’t have any issues selling the stock ones other than needing a little more patience. I sold them for $850 and a few hours later someone offered to buy them at $1000, my original asking price. Oh well. At least I got some money back.

I considered bronze rims for a minute! I still think they would have been a great alternative to what I ended up getting. What color Sport will you be getting?

    Hey Allan!

Honestly, I was going to get the OEM roof rack more for aesthetics than anything else. I think that’s why I ended up opting out. Although, I might reconsider if I ever decided to buy a roof top tent. Just not there yet.

I’ll look up the Victory sliders just to get an idea.

Tucson is nice. I live in Oro Valley and my balcony view is of the Catalina Mountains.

    Hey fellow Frank!
Thanks! I really am pleased with how the truck is turning out. She is a beauty for sure. Now I just need to make sure I take better care of her. :fingerscrossed:

That is something else to see every day. Pretty sure I was about 1.5 hour drive from Nogales, might have been 2. There was some town center that looked like an old western town. Had a restaurant called The Dakota. I think about it regularly. Was the middle-of-the-road January and I kept getting odd looks... walking around in shorts and a T-shirt. Lol

If you have any intention on an RTT, I'd skip the OEM rack. It's pretty useless at that point.

Great looking truck. I am jealous of all the mods you have completed in one month's time.

You have done a great job a lot of tasteful mods. It will be interesting to see what you do after a year's time.

I noticed you have a pro grill with a front camera. I have a Sport with the advanced tech package that has the panoramic camera view and has that front camera. Wanted to look at changing the grill but the only option I could find that accommodated the front facing camera was OEM and I didn't want to spend that kind of money. Did you find an aftermarket grill that accommodates the front camera or is that your own mod?

    BTW, truck looks great :)

I also have the advanced tech package. And the TRD Lift that I got came with the OEM Pro Grill. So not an aftermarket.

    Oh look, another mod....

This is the grille that put on my truck. I didn't like the big oval Toyota logo. It comes with a camera bracket, and you can get it just about any color you want.

Bro! Don’t tempt me further! I think it’s 95% done with the mods. On scoop mod though that is coming up is to personalize my license plate. I want it to be a positive message.

And I really appreciate your compliments. It’s a beauty and I’ve enjoyed modding it up.
