What if I told you that 20v was just a marketing scheme to make the tools appear better than 18v tools? Actually it’s the truth! They are 20v but actually 18v tools. Their 60vMAX stuff is awesome though. I was really considering their SDS Plus drill the other day, but I decided to go the cheaper route because I have more batteries for the green system already.

 

What if I told you that Milwaukee 12v is really only 10.8v! It’s true.

 

Yes it’s true.

 

I know that’s why I think the 18V vs 20V debate is dumb. All the other companies and their fans are just pissed they didn’t think of it first.

 

Picked it up this AM. Have not unboxed, but I LOVE that the box is very heavy. Well I hate that it's heavy, but yeah good tool density!!

 

Most of my dewalt tools are flawless.

exception is I’ve cooked 2 skill saws and the battery chainsaw sprockets only lasted a year.

the warrantied my compressor so while a pain to ship it and 3 months offline I got a new one.

 

Picking it up was probably the smart thing. I was away when it got delivered. The stupid delivery dude dun left all 84 lbs of it over by the main road of the property. My wife who is about 100 lbs, randomly saw it in the distance on one of the security cams and had to drive home to drag it into the shop.

I haven’t “used it” yet per say but I did management to run some scrap test boards (2x8). Works good. Just check to make sure the tables don’t need some tweaking on the adjustments.

 

Tell me more about the chainsaw sprockets. I noted wear on my

Milwaukee M18 chainsaw sprocket immediately on use. I cut up a few things recently, I need to re-inspect.

 

It’s the main chain drive sprocket wearing out and causing derailments. Additionally the kickback brake broke early on so I permanently overrode it which is a safety issue if a newbie ever picks it up. I actually went back to a gas driven husky for felling and bucking, and only use the dewalt for pruning as it’s just not that great. Probably ok for the once a year tree work, but I produce 5-8 cords a year.

 

Oh no. Well sometime PU at my Home Depot is OK. But other times like a picnic with grizzlies or wishing you were napping on a fire ant colony. `

I might test mine later this week. My shop is a cluster right now as I have everything pulled away from the east wall for breezeway cover construction.

 

Have you seen the new 20” Dewalt saw? Should fix a lot of those issue since it was pretty much redesigned from the ground up.

Probably going to pick up one of the new atomic ratchets in the near future too. The addiction is real.

 

I just bought one of those too. I used it just the other day to change out my rear bump stops.

 

I’ve had the 921 since it hit Home Depot. Replaced my Milwaukee 1/2 stubby with it. I really like it

I’ll probably will stick with the m12 stuff that I have for awhile. I find the 3/8s right angle impact money, and the the fuel ratchets are good enough for me. I don’t think dewalt has a right angled impact yet outside of the plastic ones for the drivers.

Crazy specialty, but when you need no nail heads to show, or need no splitting when pinning a miter together, they are the shizz. (I use my 16 and 18 waay more often.)

Does anyone have any experience with the DCBL720 leaf blower? Someone is selling tool only for $80 which didn't sound too bad.

Looks to review pretty well, too. The only complaints were about not being able to leave the battery in the blower.

 

i have the 722 ( flexvolt) so I’m no help, sorry. I did want to mention though that in my experience, the 20v outdoor stuff is underwhelming.

Obviously, that’s depending on how large or small your needs are. Hence why I just did flexvolt for all outdoor stuff. I had a trimmer and chainsaw xr that just didn’t cut it. It leaves me to assume that the blower would be similar, though I could be wrong and of course my opinion is subjective to my environment.
