I got to experience the first gas crisis when the price of oil went up around 300% in a year in a 66 Bonneville. I think this had a 421. It was a running sumbitch.
You could watch the gas gauge needle drop while driving. I think it got something like 9 MPG.

Cool car though! Was the 421 a nailhead?

Just a regular OHV setup. There were a few tri carb models. I can't imagine what those got in MPG. That was back when Delorean was running Pontiac and trying to outrun the other divisions.

That was before disc brakes. You could go fast, but stopping it was another story.

I think we need to start a (get Dan his parts thread) to figure out all the logistics of getting him all his parts.
As long as its not at my place to long I can hold it. I have my eye on this parts 4runner right now and I will need the space.

yeah it got completely destroyed. They will rebuild it though I bet using the partially built 2nd one. Heard the expected total cost was in the billions though

that works, if it could wait till April that would be best. There is still a glacier in my yard. The green truck is in the spot I would store his parts.

That plane was a vital part in transporting large mining equipment from my understanding. So im sure they will pay what ever it takes

yeah probably not....though like Miguel said the companies that benefitted from it the most will probably contribute. I think Russia built the first one? Probably why they figured they could destroy it. Like my mom would say, I brought you into this world and I can take you outta it

It was made during USSR times as I understand, or at least the design and major assembly was done right before the fall. Technically it has always been within Ukraine's borders.

Just found out it was sitting in that hanger for over a year out of order while they designed and installed new controls in it. Just finished test flights before it got blow up.
