I have a 2018 Tacoma, automatic, 4X4, V-6 engine, 20 gallon gas tank. I normally get 410-415 miles per tank. Now I get 350. I don't have a lead foot, do the speed limit. This problem did not happen last winter. I have gotten times where the tank mileage was 380 but then it went back to 410. What could be the problem? Ideas? Comments, Suggestions.

As for driving...Weekends are highway mileage, week days is suburban around town stuff. On the highway I can get 22 mpg. Around town 18. I have an aluminum shell cap, factory standard tires. No after market add on's.

City driving? I just did a 4k mile road trip and was lucky to get 380 a tank just babying it. With just city driving or any bad winds that drops a lot. I'm slightly lifted and on SL 265/75/16 though.

I’m tired of pussy-footing around for minimal mpg gains. It’s much more gratifying to bury it!

Did you have a cold snap where you were warming it up more in the morning? Maybe the kids are siphoning it to huff? It isn't uncommon to have fluctuations in mileage depending on lots of variables. I typically range from 390 to 430 kms per fill. I calculate out the mileage on an excel spreadsheet. Nothing that I am concerned about.

$4.30 here. And have been babying my truck and mpg with the winter additives is Effin awful. You would think driving at 55-60 would be the most optimal but the mpg blows.

Miles per tank is useless information. Figure miles per gallon and get back to us.

ASSUMING you drove 410 miles and put in 20 gallons of gas that would be 20.5 mpg which is pretty good. But if you put in 20 gallons you were really cutting it close with only a 21 gallon tank. Very few people pump more than 17-18 gallons. You still have 3-4 gallons of gas when the fuel gauge says empty. If you drove 350 miles and pumped 17 gallons that is still 20.5 mpg.

This is why talking about miles per tank is useless.

I have a 2018 SR 4x4 DC and I get around 410 per tank (around 20 to 22 MPG based on how many miles I have driven divided by how much I have to fill). I have 50K miles and that has always been what I get for the last 4 years. You don't say how many miles you have. Spark Plugs, Air Filter are what I would check first. Good luck.
