It's just a truck. You'll have lots of them. Do what's best for your family. With two large dogs and now a new baby, I have an F-150 Tremor on order.

    Oh look, another mod....

    That's a nice looking rig.

Kelly Blue Book puts the value of your truck at: $7200 - 8600

Did the same a few years ago, though we just had our kid in August '21. Had an '02 4cyl 5MT 4x4. LOVED it. Wish I still had it. Between the future family and the road trip we went on, it had to go to make room for my '07 DCSB 4X4 6MT.

I still miss the single cab, but I'll be damned if fatherhood isn't awesome. Glad I have room for him in the back seat now, along with my wife and doggo.

    Edit: beautiful truck.

Actually just the opposite is the case.

However, the market will soften for many reasons, it's just a matter of when. I think by this summer for ones as old and niche oriented as yours.

IF you decide to sell, NOW is the time.

BTW, in terms of family use (not camping/adventuring) for 98.34% of life, you'll never regret a Sienna. Comfy, better MPG, haul all kinds of stuff securely, etc etc.

Maybe one 2-3 years old and keep the truck as 'your' vehicle.

We've been making do with my 1st gen Xtra cab after our baby was born, she just turned 2 in January. Of course it isn't our primary baby hauler though, the Rav4 is.

Single cab though....think the writing is on the wall there. Unless there's a way to keep it around as your weekend warrior rig and get another vehicle for family trips. I've gone back and forth on selling my 1st gen these last two years but luckily we can make it work for short camping trips. It just isn't roomy at all lol.

    Yeah.
First reply was probably the best for your situation. If you want similar capabilities to your current rig but a place for the baby, sell it and get a newish 4x4 4Runner. It's essentially what you've got, but with a back seat. Or, keep the truck and buy a used Corolla to cart the kid around. Either way, you are probably out about $10k. Do you want to take the baby out on adventures with you? Get the 4Runner. No? Get a Corolla and have something lighter on gas.

technically you could take the baby along with you on adventures if you keep the truck. The single cabs should have the ability to turn the airbag on/off since there's no back seat for a car seat.

But unless the wife wants to ride in the shell then it's not going to be a family outing.

Vehicles are JUST THINGS! Bro, get the vehicle you need. You get to make all new memories with your little one.

I sold my Mustang GT that I owned for almost 20 years - bought a VW SUV. The first time you load up your new vehicle with the family for an adventure you’ll forget all about the truck.

If I were going to do it again, I would have kept my 2014 Regular Cab and bought the base model 2017 Subaru Outback (0.0% financing back then)... That would have prevented me from spending about $80,000 on cars and truck from October 2016 through today, and all would have been paid for long ago, and only have combined 140,000 miles! The extra money each month right now would sure go a long way.

I’m going to say it. MiniVan time. I did 10 years hard time in a Sienna. Best times with kids in cars. Now back to trucks and I have no regrets.

I have a Land Cruiser for baby hauling/ off roading. New civic for gas saving, Corvette for having fun. Having multiple vehicles is nice because when one breaks down you have back up.

Life happens. Additions come. Get your wife a Honda minivan, a 4Runner, a Honda CRV or some other roomy vehicle. When it’s time for everyone to go places together, use her vehicle.

DON’T SELL YOUR TRUCK!!!! I made that mistake, once. I wanted it back within a week or two of selling it. I finally bought another Tacoma, after squeaking by with a darn car for 8 years.

Learn from the mistakes of others.

Yeah we got a Model Y for baby hauling n such(fuel savings) but the issue is she can't drive the truck or fit us all... I'm starting to lean on not selling...
