small world...I was working on this song, as well a some other thrahsers, on drums on Saturday. Trying to regain the double bass chops I had 20 years ago.

Then I did a 20 mile mountain bike ride...my legs and butt are killing me right now

Yea, That's a good song to work on the db with.
I donated my tripple leg iron cobra HH to my buddy for his set and putting my 2 leg dw3000 HH back in so I can put my dw 3000 db pedal back in. It's been over a month and he still hasn't picked it up.

yeah...I need to get a double leg HH pedal...and actually, a new double kick pedal too. Mine is a 1994 DW5000 chain drive. Almost 30 years old, and defdinitely playing like it...

    the issue?

I also own a Tacoma...so which direction to spend the money I don't have?

    Lol. ikr?
If I don't figure out what's up with my hand soon, i'll put my entire "84" Roadstar collection up on Reverb. Should fetch around $7k-$8k. I'll dump that into some bills and finish off my 4x4 conversion that came to a grinding halt.

Finally got the guitar rack up in the new house. Only took me two years to get around to it. Now I have to unpack all the albums and hang some framed posters in the basement.

That's the most recent addition and the first one in many years. It was my 40th birthday present. not pictured: Fender Mustang bass (white), Danelectro Dano Pro (pea soup green), Taylor 114e (natural). I plan to hang the Dano elsewhere as a stand-alone display. it looks like this:

It was two 1x3s cut six feet long ($10), five wall hangers ($45), a paint sample from Home Depot ($4), and 12 long screws. Nothing fancy. I need to plug the old holes and paint over them from where it hung at my old house.

Mine a on stands and in cases. All my accoustics I keep in cases at the moment because of how dry it is, but they get hung on hangers on the wall when the heater isn't running so much.

Hey guys, hoping someone can give me some advice on selling my setup.

I’m not sure on exact dates, but let’s say back in 2005ish I bought this Fender Highway 01 Strat in the Amber wood grain finish along with a Vox amplifier brand new from Guitar Center. Up until then I’d really enjoyed playing guitar, but quickly lost interest once I’d made this investment. I was about 9 or 10 years old at the time.

fast forward to now, I’m getting ready to move and it’s time to downsize. I’ve kept it around in hopes I’d get back into guitar, but at this point, I’m doubting that’ll ever happen.

Could you guys help me with a ballpark asking price? And along with that, anyone have interest in purchasing? I’m currently located in the Eugene, OR area.

guitar probably has less than 50 hours of playing time on it, has been kept in a case it’s whole life, but does have some surface rust near the bridge. Here are some pics, TIA

    Maybe $750-$1000 in that condition.
Go to reverb.com and do a search. There's quite a few.

Well, where to start, while sounding like an experienced old crotchety bastage...

First off, that's not rust...it's patina. Now that's out of the way...

Do you need the cash, or does the case not fit in the moving van? Or doesn't fit at the new pad?

If it's none of the above, I vote keep it. You may get the bug again (happened to me) And if it does, it will bug you that you sold THAT guitar. Sell the amp if you must, easily replaced, but the guitar is significant in that it seems like your first major investment @ 10 yrs old. If you don't get the bug again you might squeeze out a spawn that might have the bug at some point...or a niece or nephew where you can gift them a nice vintage guitar at that point...be the cool uncle.

It's going to sit comfortably in that case and just increase in value while taking up a 4' x 2' x 5" space. Like the good soldier it was designed to be.

I've sold things from my youth that I regret, cars, guitars, hash...but in my humble learnings of life I've also preyed on the young and naive selling real quality stuff because of xxxxx reason.

It's the circle of life my friend...good luck with whatever your choice is

While I’m not necessarily in dire need of money, it would be comforting having a bit more money to help this move and get re-established. You bring up some great points about keeping it around that I’d not quite considered though. Also hadn’t considered just getting rid of the amp. The guitar is a whole lot easier to slide under a bed. I’d say biggest reason for me wanting to sell is that I think there are others out there that could value and use this far more than myself, but that’s no guarantee.

I went from dead set on selling this thing to second guessing myself in about 30 minutes. I appreciate your response and will have to mull this situation over a bit more.
