20% or 35% Tint?

LEER Shell with dome lights operated with 3 way switches, aux backup lights with relay and 3 position switch, modified wiring to compass/temp display and clock to include switch that disables dimming function (poor man's DRL solution), Scan Gauge 2

I have personally had 35% on front windows and could not see out well at night. I think 20% looks better but I would not go any darker than 35% on the two front windows. I was always worried I wouldn't see a pedestrian trying to cross the street as I was turning right in our downtown area (lots of pedestrians who don't look out for themselves). Always had to roll the windows down to feel safe in areas with lots of people running around.

I've got 20 or 25 on the front, cant remember and factory tint on the rest. The fronts are slightly darker this way, but it looks great IMO. Only thing is, I see you're in CA so I'd go with the 35% to help keep cops off your ass and getting a fix-it ticket.

I have 35% and it looks fine... never had a problem with cops either... my last car had 10% and you could not see shit at night... still no problems with cops though

Isn't all tint in CA illegal? If it is and you're going behind the law's back, might as well make it worth something and get the 20% so you actually get some privacy effect out of it.

20 all around and the back cab windows are factory tinted also. No strip on the W/S.

Toyota calls it deeply tinted...lol!! My guess is the factory is close to a 20% because when I tinted just the front 2 doors with 20% it was a very close match to the rear with just factory tint. I wanted the rear darker so decided to put a layer of film on the access cab also.

i had 20% on my 98 ram and it was scary driving at night. the closest i ever came to hitting a pedestrian was driving that truck at night. also i was hit in the same truck and it wasn't my fault. the other driver ran a light trying to time it and hit my rear bumper. the cop told me that since no damage was done and that neither of us was going to contact our insurance companies i was lucky. he said that because of my tint the insurance agent/company could argue that i was culpable and that in a court it would stand up. now the chances of that happening are rather slim, yet it is something to consider.
