the power goes where it’s needed, rest assured somebody is paying and getting paid for it. I always laugh at the folks who “buy” cheaper power on those websites, not realizing that it all comes from the same place lmao

These plants are probably about 4 miles from the PA-OH border. I don't know why DLC sold it. Maybe when the mills and other industries left the area, they didn't need that much power. Some people don't like nuclear either.

When we first got the PA Power Switch I would review the site and made changes for the lower price, which was a fair savings, but noticeable. Then, at least in my area, the choices or options became less. Eventually, I found one on the site for 6 months at a very good rate. Unfortunately, I didn't look closely at the small print which stated after 6 months I was being transferred to a completely green energy source. Mind you, this was 6 or 7 years ago. When that happened, my first bill under the green energy came in and it was just about double. No lie. I don't have natural gas in my area, so we power the cooktop, oven, dryer, hot water tank, etc., by electric. The bill was outrageous. I called the company and told them i am canceling with them. They were very understanding, probably because they know they used deceit, legal but still by crook, to get my account. After that I just decided to stay with DLC. I have checked the site from time to time and sometimes DLC is as cheap or cheaper, than any other option.

They somehow swindled my grandmother into one of those deals. She uses less electricity than us by far and her bills were upwards of over $40 more expensive. Took several attempts to get off that crap and just go strait up with West Penn/First Energy.

Well, I went nuclear (pun intended) and they canceled me, right after I got my first bill at this inflated price. I just checked the website and in my zip code, there is only one other option than DLC and it is more. I just think given the state of things, there really aren't many other energy sources who want to come to certain areas. It may also be because most people just stick with their default source, so the demand is small.

An accident is no reason to put the kibosh on an entire industry. There are plenty of car and plane accidents every day and people still drive and fly.

I think the weather man said we may get up to an inch late in the week. We had a little bit of icy snow this morning, literally a smattering, on the wooden deck. It's gone now.

    Working on it
Commodity markets have nearly removed supply and demand from price considerations. Traders are running up the price of oil because they feel it's a safe place to put their money, when in fact there's no real shortage of oil on the markets.

This ain't the 70s, people are getting rich because we're still an oil based economy throughout the world, not because there's a shortage of oil in the country.
