Also, for someone that drives a lot for their job, this year's taxes may be better to take the itemized auto expenses over the mileage deduction.

Not everyone is unprepared or cant handle the misadventures of life. Being upset over it because someone can and said it is kind of childish. Not to give anyone any advice but maybe being smart on your expenditures and what you do would have prevented some of the pain. This place is about spending money on Tacoma's so it really doesn't fit into a budget for anyone.

Isn't that the truth, costing me about $150 to fill up my 38 gallon tank....... and on top of that I'm getting about 9 mpg.....

If anyones curious, an older clunker between $500-1000 that gets 32+mpg will pay for itself in fuel savings within 2-4 months, depending on price of gas in your area (assuming you get 14-17mpg in your tacoma). That is, if you can find something reliable in that price range; likely a family/friend deal.

Edit: if you're driving 60+ miles per day that is. I'm sure the internet mathmagicians will roast me

I was specifically told not to worry about MPG because it's a truck...

This has kinda been crossing my mind as well. I'll likely start driving the Camry most of the week and use the Tacoma on Saturday to the trash to the dump before work. Camry will get 28mpg compared to 19ish in the truck. I can afford to drive the Tacoma just fine, but if I can save some money somewhere I will...

I work from home so barely drive, but even if I didn’t I wouldn’t care. It is what it is

Damn, just put a half tank in the Tundra yesterday. Figured I would before it gets more expensive by the end of the week. Was $80 for 19 gallons. Its 4.19 here now...

The unfortunate thing is all prices go up. We've started eating tofu and may start whale hunting for heating oil.

Actually in 2016, so several years ago I guess. May have been $1.39, I just remember I loved filling up

This hog gets 80 miles per gallon, I need to put tail light, mirrors, and blinkers on it so I can get plates. This will end up being my daily for the summer at this rate. Its got a top speed of about 40 mph, so I will not be able to hit the highways unless I want to die.

Also you can see to the right of my mini bike my reel mower. No gas to cut my lawn.
