I understand. I was just hoping it was a clogged fuel filter.

Find out what the dealer's position will be if the work they do does NOT solve the problem...

They said its a starting point. I told them I'm not paying extra if the problem persist they offered me 10% of for this visit and told me they will do their best if they don't solve the problem.

Sometimes it's a guessing game! Do you have an independent shop that you can get a second opinion from? Might be worth your time (and money) to do so.

I bought the truck a few weeks ago. You're right. I should be looking for a local independent toyota specialist just in case of any future problem.

it's a stupid design and doesn't last the lifetime of the vehicle, especially when traveling to different areas. you can not control how clean the gas you are getting is..

a fuel filter is a consumable item.

have you checked the entire intake?

a slightly dirty throttle plate can cause rough idle.
any of the flapper things in the intake can also get dirty or worn and cause rough idle
do you have any obd codes??

Looks like the regulator is roughly $40 each on rock auto shipped. If you are mechanically inclined, you could try to change it yourself and save the money.

Just added toolbox and roof-rack to haul my fishing boat 100's of miles into the backwoods every week. Goodrich K02s, Bilstein 5100 front and back, no lift.

more like the lifetime of the fuel pump. get some good fuel injector cleaner like amsoil or redline. should clean out the fuel system as much as possible without pulling the fuel tank.

I'm on the naptha train. LoL. i say get a can of seafoam. (anyone that thinks it doesn't work, is wrong. but it's not a miracle, fuel system cleaning agents are more of a preventative maintenance item, not a "fix")
