    Some stuff
    With all these web sleuths....
I'm hunting for a cab for my 3rd gen...
DCSB.. fiberglass. PREFER the single handle so I can convert to power locks.
For the right price, color is irrelevant.
Already priced new.. and might drop a deposit...

I'm terrible when it comes to looking for stuff like this

If I find one, I'll be listing my Softopper.

So what you're looking for is a Toyota Celica Alltrac manual/1st gen Rav4 under 100k and under $10k ? That's going to be pretty hard to find in any market, even current..

My vote, and there are a bunch near you, because Ive researched myself, is whats called a Honda Acty. Its a jdm mini truck. RHD, manual, 4wd, usually under 50k km (20k miles or so), and insanely useful for where you are at. They import them from Japan, low rust, and super cheap to maintain. The counterpart is a mini minivan. Still same specs, but 5 seater and a trunk, if you dont need a bed. I think the van version is called a Street. And other manufacturers have them too. Subaru Sambar, Dihatsu Minijet.

This is a very nice condition one, but they can be in the $5-9k range.

It is. Been working with them. And so far, all positive. Problem is, their stock ones have the skirt, and the double t handle door.
The power lock thing is a convenience thing for me, a MUST for her.
They should be having some in my color soon...

Mine is Midnight Black Metallic. And that is almost what I was quoted for what I WANT...

If I order, it's frameless rear window(w/power lock) sliding windows(windows kinda aren't THAT important) roof rails, and skirt delete... Comes in under 3k and can have it in 4-6wks.

    I don't mind a road trip either.

Again, just deal hunting, to see if I can find something appropriate before I pull the trigger.

As it is, I'm trying to get my garage/shop approved/built.

For a measly $4k more, you could get a GFC in same time frame. Its lighter than a fiberglass cap, and has a badass tent built in!

If the GFC was closer to $6k id probably just buy one…

Right now I’m hunting for a tall aluminum cap for the short term, with the long term plan being cutting the top and making a ripcord style camper.

    Careful.

I think Jersey has a strong set of these, RI is small if not non-existent, but still. The "workarounds" to get to them may be at risk long term.

:spy: I may have been looking for one to futz around with. But now I'm on a leaf kick ooooo yeaaaa

They're nice. Just not really on my radar.

I NEVER have enough time to use something like that.
A solid cap wpuld provide a touch more security on road trips, etc.

If I'm going to "go get lost", I'll buy a slide-in pop-up for my 1ton... Plenty of ground clearance, the flatbed adds more storage. More room, etc.

Hmm but are the registrations for normal use or antique? In VA if you wanted to drive every day, youd have to do normal use. Then still pass safety inspection, not sure about emissions. If you do antique, it's something like less than 200 miles from your house and not every day. But how do they prove not every day?

Doesn't Vermont have something where non residents can register a vehicle there? I thought @spencermarkd had a motorcycle plate from VT

Doesn't matter. You can still bring antiques onto highway. In RI Antique plates are available but used for cars that are only to be brought to and from shows, and are not daily drivers. :notsure: not sure how they enforce that, but long of the short, either one goes on a highway and their reasoning (public reasoning) is that these vehicles are too slow.

I haven't spent a lot of time digging into it since RI can F off, I hate it  they register all trucks, tacomas included, as combo so you can't do charity plates. Also, because it's a combo, you pay full sales tax regardless of trade in (IE typically a trade in is deducted from your sale cost, and you pay sales tax on that reduced amount. NOT FOR TRUCKS IN RI!).

Shenanigans all around but what do you expect from the people who elected a guy named "Buddy", and then re-elected him after he was voted out of office the first time after he plead no contest to roughing up a contractor

It's bananaland. But, good food and short commutes.

    @demo243 thank you.
If that black is the same, it might be worth it, especially if they'll wheel and deal...

    Reached out.

But, looks how I spec'd.. roof tracks, power lock...

    RHD is definitely out son.
Needs to be a sedan or coupe AWD, Stickshift.
That Celica all track sounds nice. Could be Subaru.
Willing to grab one from down south.
