I prefer Nexus regular, but would love to try the +P. KDMP is a nice tune, but Nexus has way better setup for the Torque Converter locking, half-locking, etc. Also seeing +2-3mpg better fuel economy cruising

your truck sounds like its driving stock tuning then cuz thats how i drive on and off tuning. Im so into that habit because of how stock is.

I can give a long review if people are interested later when I'm by my computer. Short story is do it if you want a very consistent drive and more power across the board. Having the truck running so efficient that it can hit 33.7 for kclv on 85 is insane. You can just tell that it is so much happier. I actually find myself backing off the throttle on the highway now instead of constantly being dug into it.

On the flippty flop. If you don't want a tune that truly does change the way the truck drives (for the better) don't do it. If you are going to be upset that the truck uses the torque converter as it should and downshift when you dig into the throttle this isn't the tune for you. The nexus dudes did a very good job of timing downshift. Once 6th or 5th doesn't have anything left to give it will downshift.

Anyway if you guys want more thoughtful insight I'll get to it tonight.

Not too sure how the converter half locking works, if someone could explain a little better that would be great! Went back and didnt find much on it. Curious how it affects convertor/trans temps if any.

Torque converter is the equivalent of a clutch in a manual transmission, it's the disconnect between engine and the transmission. In a manual transmission you leave the clutch out while driving...same as the TC locked. At a stop you press the clutch in, where the TC will unlock. TC Half lock would essentially be the equivalent of slipping the clutch, it takes some strain off the engine/transmission and helps keep tranny temps lower.

Unlocked state makes more powa until higher rpms, but it generates heat and then people get all butt hurt and freak out even though it's 2022

I switched from KD Max Pro to Nexus. It’s still learning, but so far it’s been good.

I will say I definitely notice a difference when it shifts from KD to +P. But I can’t complain yet as it’s still learning the tune.

from my logs it actually keeps temps lower. Anytime TC is on it lowers. The default norm for running trans temp is 185-195.

when towing 4K+ lbs and the thermostat pinned. I cruise nicely at 190-195 with some long trips getting to 204 degrees. Hills/grades can make this go up, but if TC is on it drops rapidly

Here is the dead pedal issues i was experience. This just Nexus tune on a few miles incline, but +P was doing the same. The throttle is limited in 5th.
Accel is going up. Throttle got stuck 42, RPMS are flat. more to come on 2 other issues.
