I live on the other side of the state, Paw Paw/ Kalamazoo. Moved over this way in 1980, don’t get over that way much anymore. Do miss a lot of the food/music scene Detroit has.

Any fans of Cajun food that find themselves near Cold Spring Kentucky, I highly suggest the restaurant Knotty Pine on the Bayou.

I am up here working in Northern Kentucky and found it on Google when I was looking for dinner choices.

I haven't lived up there for five years now, but I did work downtown. It was great to see the development and investment and how it is paying off. So much good stuff with celebrity chefs opening restaurants, a major league sports / entertainment district integrated into downtown. Detroit was never someplace I would recommend to people. Now it is. You still have to maintain some situational awareness, but crime in those areas is down, investment into affordable safe housing is happening. It really has turned around. I wouldn't mind going back for a downtown weekend with all that goes on there now.
